I heard this on the TV yesterday. That while we play our game Penny watches and breaks down our opponent for the next week and then goes over it with Henne starting Monday or Tuesday.

What a class act he is hurt but still does everything in his power to make this team better. Hell he probably is gonna be like a QB coach now that he is back. Man this guy continues to just impress me with his desire to be part of a winner and be part of a team and a community.

He STILL IS one of the smartest QB's in the league and this can defiantly help us in the long run. I think this will pay off and Henne will continue to develop each game winning his first game and winning his first road game were majorly important, he is reaching that hump where teams have tap of him now, lets see how Penny and the staff get him to adjust.

THANKS AGAIN PENNY!

YES Penny is a great guy and a class act, but he is also still under contract and is stil recieving a paycheck from the Phins. That being said, 99% of players on IR would not do what he is doing, but it's not like he's doing it for free.

The guy is a football geek, he lives and breathes the stuff. I'm sure that he welcomes the fact that the Phins are letting him hang out at the facility and still be a part of the team, albeit not on gameday.

As an aside, Penny will be playing and competing for a starting job somewhere next year, but not here. This is Henne's team now unless he absolutely falls apart the rest of the season IMO.

I had read that before, but who cares, it is always great to post again. Penny always has been and always will be a class act. If he can resume his career elsewhere, I wish him all the luck. He will be an O coordinator or head coach someday in the NFL. Hell, maybe here!

Too bad it is like trying to talk sense into a rock. Henne seems incapable of reading NFL defenses. He will be competing for the job here next year. They will probably cut Thigpen and draft another QB.

Baseless comment.

The kid has started 3 NFL games with a veritable whos who of mediocrity at wide receiver and for the most part Henne has played admirably.
Granted, this last game against the Jets was his worst outing, but it was against a very good defense and there were more than a couple of dropped passes. I look for Henne to bounce back against the Pats with a big outing against that dog-crap secondary of New England.
Henne is going to be the real deal going forward man, I'm telling you.

and you base this on what....his 3-1 record....the team scoring 30+ in every game he has played....his 4 TD's and 2 ints (one of which was totally not his fault). Henne didnt get rid of the ball yesterday but he is trying so hard to make a play and while 99% of the guys who try as hard as he does throw like 5ints ala Sanchez he doesnt make any mistakes he does take a sack but that is waaaay better than a fumble or a pick.

how many times do we have to say it guys drool over Ryan and Flacco both had very very average years if you project Henne's stats out they will be similar or better. He is going through a point now where he has to make adjustment because every one has 4 game tapes of his play.

Henne will grow alot in the next 3 or 4 weeks as Penny teaches him adjustment. Did we skip your fav college QB and thats why you hate him after 4 starts in which get this HE IS 3-1

agreed 100%. the one thing i like a lot about henne is that even though he hasnt rlly lit up it up statistically besides the jets game at home, he isnt rlly forcing anything and that is key. usually when a qb is young, he will try to impress and force things at bad times. like yesterday for example against the jets, obviously i was extremly pissed when he kept getting sacked on his back for like 10-15 yd losses in key spots, but at least he didnt try to throw the ball and possibly throw a pik 6. as he gets more experienced and more weapons, he will be real good.

Great to hear Chad Coachinwaitington is doing something to earn his dough besides turning the football over....

Maybe Chad Myshoulderisshotington can resurrect the Browns next year....

Can't wait til Fishy sniffs this one out.....

Penne's the greatest!! I think we'd have beaten the Saints with Penne!!

As it stacks up right now, Penne may start next season.
Chad Chicharrón is progressing slowly ... he's getting fried up with the pigskin & eating alot of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicharrón

Wow, you got that from watching him play 16 quarters of football.

Ok OK.. took me a while... Can't blame me though...

I must admit... The Penny threads are few and far between nowadays... it seems like only yesterday when Chad Scapegoatington was being blamed for everything that was wrong with this team and the world... Including the economy and swine flu.

but now times have changed... Ginn has been exposed... Porter is ummm Porter... Crowder is ahem Crowder... Wilson is... well you get the picture...

while there is plenty to be optimistic about with this squad... We got holes too... and guess what??? NONE of them have anything to do with Chad Handsoffington...

They were here before the Chad and they will be here long after he has gone off to replace Derek Anderson and lead the Browns to a conservative playoff appearance next season with an offense affectionately called the 'inchworm'...

Cheers Chad DeservedBetterington so long and thanks... Hope Mangini treats ya better the second go round...
