Great article, great post Cane!! This pretty much sums up the polarized feelings of most posters on this board as well. The Penny fans know what we have and appreciate what he does and the Henne fans want the flashy gunslinger with the potential to make big plays. I'm not saying either side is right or wrong, but this article certainly explains it well.

Im fine with Pennington but he has a history of not staying healthy. The jest cut bait with him because he was not consistent because he was not on the field enough.

I definitely understand where your coming from and the concern that many of us have with Penny's ability to stay healthy, however since he has been a Dolphin he has remained healthy, he obviously can take a hit as we saw this weekend, and get up and keep playing. I am one of those that believe that sometimes a change will make the biggest difference in ones life, this change for Penny could be it. Time will tell.

Not sure scenary will make a guy stay healthy though. I fully expect to see Henne at some pointhis year,

Totally agree with his inablility to stay healthy. I think he has turned the corner in that regard, lets hope so anyway.

The Jets cut Penny because it was just time. Penny had worn out his welcome with the NY fans, and they had worn him out too.

cannot blame them for wanting to change qb at the time. Not sure I understand going for Favre but he does stay on the field

Honestly, I hope your wrong, because Henne is not ready to take this team over. I know many want to make excuses for the kid but it is what it is, he has not looked impressive and there really is no excuse for it. He has had the opportunity to play with the first stringers and the back ups and still not a flash. Henne needs more time and as long as we can keep Penny we wont have to rush it, making it possible to lose a talent because we couldnt groom him long enough. On the other hand we have a steady stable QB who can get the job done, everyone is looking for the one player to take us to the Super Bowl, this is a team game and one player is not enough especially Henne, at least not anytime soon.

My son is a Jets fan (yeah imagine my home on game day when we play against) but he had a fit when they picked up Favre, and so did most of his friends. I remember the first game when Favre fluttered that TD pass against us there were six people in the room yelling at the TV for different reasons...lol

Farve stays on the field even when he shouldn't. To the point he ends up being a detriment to his team.

Well in some ways it seemed that way but teams are still more intrigued by a guy like Favre than they ever will be with a guy like Penny. Much like the way Jeff Garcia continually gets tossed.
