people already bashing us for taking him...

Pure jealousy! If they knew what we knew because of shermans insider trading, he would have gone #2!

 God grief, no! Most Bills fans breathed a sigh of relief when the Fins took Tannehill because it ...
  • eliminated any possibility that the Bills would be tempted to reach for Tannehill at #10
  • guaranteed that the Fins would get little or no positive production out of their first round draft pick!

I suspect that in 3-4 years, most Fin fans will be wishing that Tannehill would have gone at #2 or #22 or #222, anywhere but #8. Reaching for a project at any position in the first round is dumb, and reaching for said project in the Top 10 is even dumber, but reaching for a project QB in the Top Ten is a prescription for failure.

However, better the Fins than the Bills. Thanks a bunch!

These talking heads act as if Luck and RGIII don't need development and won't struggle either. I'm calling flopage for both top picks in their rookie year.

The problem with this theory is that we drafted a guy who isnt even ready to play....therefore, we won't know if we need to draft another QB until 2015 and may end up missing on a good QB in next 2 years drafts.

If we are in a position to snag a franchise QB at the top of the next two years' drafts, it will be because a hell of a lot more has gone wrong with this team than Tannehill sitting on the bench, and it will take more than a franchise QB to fix it.

No one thought Marino was ready to play right away either. We have two proven starters besides Tannehill and a whole offseason for the coaches to decide who starts. Let's all come in off the ledge.

Kinda like the sigh of relief most fins fans felt when Fitzie, a Gus Frerrotte workmanlike QB was signed to an elite QB contract? I hope the team is at a point in the contractual milemarkers that they're actually stuck with him or at least paying him. Factually, who can say what Tannehill's ceiling is, but I'd think the guy who developed Favre might have a better handle on that than a bunch of basement bloggers and quasi-literate self-annointed "experts." However, I think most in the league, in the know, would agree that Fitz's ceiling just about caught up with him.

Remember, the same guys on Buffalo who were seriously considering Tannehill, were the ones who've seen Fitz up close and personal and decided to reward him with a contract well beyond his qualifications or promise. If they actually wanted to replace Fitz with Tanny before contract commitments rendered it too late, what does that actually say about Fitz??? We have a high ceiling to hope for, Buffalo has a floor to look forward to. And that's the difference (aside from you having Chan as your HC).

Oh, and responding to another one of your posts: if Moore, who's a better QB than Fitz goes down, we have Garrard who unlike Fitz has not only made it to a playoff, but also actually has put up some winning seasons!
Who the hell do you have if Fitz goes down, and do you really want them being mentored by David Lee, another Parcells era bum who helped **** up this franchise?

I just hope our moronic fan base doesn't start calling for Tanny's head when he throws his first int in rookie camp although we all know it's inevitable.

The key here is the Bills don't have a QB and will not go anywhere while the Fins at least have hope with Tanny.
None of the guys picked are a sure thing even luck so let the results speak for themselves.

I also question reaching for a qb who won't play this year when we have holes that need to be filled now. It's also crazy that he won't play this year and next years draft will have a handful of qbs rated higher. If any of those guys were in this draft we would've passed on him or picked him in the 2nd.

player development

im not worried about who we drafted and where they was pick. i trust that our new coaches will be better at developing the players than the last staff . as i recall henne sat as a rookie and made no progress. l believe this staff will do much better at teaching the proper way of playing football. they seemed to have a vision

ted ginn @ #9, saban picked jason allen at #16...at least this brings hope by drafting ryan

I wasn't thrilled with the pick

I do like Joe Philbin. I'm trying to convince myself that he's the next Bill Walsh with the west coast. I think he had a big influence on this draft. If we're lucky, he just might save Ireland's career.

Dude has NO IDEA what he's talking about. Tannehill is not going to be "thrown into action immediately". And as for Miami "wiffing" on Matt Flynn, had the Dolphins REALLY wanted Matt Flynn, they could have had him.

Nor, did we have a realistic shot at Manning.

Talking Heads 101 ... here's another one I got a good chuckle out of ....

Sports Illustrated gives kudos to the 2nd Rounder BEFORE us #41/Bills and AFTER us #43/Jets ... but guess we're chopped liver!! lol ... Round 2 #42 Martin, Jonathan OT 6'5" 312 Stanford

Sports Illustrated: NFL draft's steals and reaches

[h=3]Steals[/h]• Cordy Glenn/T/Buffalo/Pick No. 41 -- The Bills are in desperate need of offensive line help, specifically at tackle. Glenn, who can play as many as four spots on the offensive line, was graded as a first-round choice and will fight for a starting spot in 2012.

Stephen Hill/WR/NY Jets/Pick No. 43 -- Hill was the vertical pass-catching threat in the Yellow Jackets' option running attack. He turned in an immense combine workout and has been receiving first-round consideration since February. Hill is rough around the edges, yet the type of receiver the Jets offense desperately needs.
