People are going to be SURPRISED!

"We want Henne!". There hopefully Chad feels better now.

Who are you really trying to convince? Us or yourself?

Im really not trying to convince anyone really,or myself, i just think we all will be surprised. This is his third year and thats usually the time good things start happening for a QB. Peyton Manning had a real rough first three years , i remember saying "Man that guy SUCKS!!" now look.Im not saying Henne will be anything close to that but this is the year we find out what the guy is about.

I wouldn't be shocked if Henne had a good year (top 15)...the guys on Sirius NFL radio today were saying they thought he could be top 10.

Based on what? Its nice to be optimistic but you simply can't ignore the past without reasonable cause.....He has not shown the skills to become a great quarterback....sorry.

and sorry for bashing Henne, when he comes out and plays hard and starts proving everyone wrong.Im not saying he is going to be the best in the league, but i got a good feeling.I admit im not the biggest fan of him and i was even drinking the Orton koolaid, but he will turn the corner this season. Go Dolphins!!!

I already am suprised at how stupid Sparano and Ireland can be...not addressing the #1 NEED OF THIS TEAM AND HANDING THE KEYS BACK TO THIS hENNE CLOWN again! Pathetic!

If the coaches want to inspire confidence then have Henne practice the victory formation at every practice telling him hes going to have to do it many times this year so he needs to ready. All the bashing and doom and gloom are ruining this site. The team went 7-9 and was effed by the refs against Pitt or would have been .500. The majority of people here act like just give we didnt give up picks for orton and give him a new deal that our team is horrible. We improved the horrid offensive line we had last year and replaced a mediocre overrated ILB with one who can actually produce. We also added team speed at skill positions which this team has been lacking forever. This is Henne's year to prove himself or be gone lets give him a chance with a new OC and hopefully better playcalling. If he fails then we move on either through the draft or free angency next year. We havent even had a preseason game everyone relax!

Sirius is just the name of the company. They were really joking.

I am a Henne basher and would love to see him gone but I hope you are right.

The Colts were a lousy team with very little in the way of talent Manning's rookie year, and he did ok, especially towards the end of the season. In his second year, he led them to a 13-3 record, a division title, and I believe the #2 seed in the playoffs. In year three, they again went to the playoffs, where they lost to the Dolphins due to Lamar Smith's ridiculous 200 yards + on the ground.

Make no mistake. Henne isn't Peyton Manning. Nor should he be expected to be. I think most people here would settle for something in the Matt Schaub realm, or hell, even Matt Hasselbeck before he started really going downhill. I really don't think somewhere in the neighborhood of 23-25 TD's is that ludicrous of an expectation. It's just that when he has an off game, he really has an off game, and his picks tend to come in bunches at very inopportune times.

The bottom line is that Henne is the scapegoat for the team's shortcomings, deserved or not. He unfortunately represents part of this franchise's ineptitude over the last decade when it comes to the QB position. A lot of fans are remembering all the horrific trades, signings, etc. and projecting them all onto Chad. Also, people aren't just looking at Chad Henne by himself. They're looking at the likelihood that whoever lines up at QB this year probably isn't enough to overcome the Pats and/or Jets. Kyle Orton wasn't going to be some huge upgrade in my mind, but to many, I think he represented an attempt to upgrade the position, even if just a little bit. People don't want the status quo because it's not very likely to get the team much further than it's gone lately.

I personally am all for giving Henne another shot, but the natives are getting restless.

The Secret!

I know we are going to have a good season this year! We continue to get younger and more talented mixed with some good veteran talent. Henne is gaining experience and it will all slow down for him this year. I like how our team is taking shape. I look forward to the postitive surprises coming from our young players and new players this season.

Go Dolphins!

Fans, get your act together...

Well I'm a Henne basher, but I hope like hell he "proves me wrong" and becomes a stud QB. I don't think he will because .... well, he sucks, but if he does all us bashers will be very happy because it means success to our team that we love just as much as all Henne supporters and classy people.
If he doesn't, it's just another year of loss, chaos, incompetence, heartbreak, and excuses.
Those of us who demand a better product can see this one coming a mile away.
Henne deserves one more year because;
1. the oline sucked
2. he had a new OC
3. it was a short off season
4. he was stressed because of the Orton thing
5. he was depressed because the fans were mean to him
6. the ref blew a call
and if TS and BD are fired
7. we need to see what he can do with a new HC and OC etc., etc., etc.
Does that about sum it up?

I agree with NCFINFAN13. I would like nothing better than to see Henne succeed, but I fear that he will never have that "IT" quality that makes a great or even a good QB I think that Henne could resurrect the Leon commercials, you know the one where Leon needed some Leon time because the fans had booed.?

This EXACTLY! I want to believe that Henne's last supporters won't be using these excuses after this upcoming season, but I can't. I fully believe they will be telling us he needs one more year, even if we fail to win a playoff game again this year. (Yes, that's my minimum result for keeping QB, Coach, GM this year).

I definitely think AJ Feely deserves one more year...Oh, sorry, thought this thread was from 2004!
