we are not going to sign or trade/for any big name players!!!!! we already would have. jt is not going anywhere. i love what parcells and co. are doing. the only mistake i think that they have made is letting zach go. besides were probably not going to be able to trade out of the first pick so were going to need the money for the signing bonus.:df81:
 
i would not be surprised at all if taylor is traded before the draft

We may not sign/trade for big name players, but the Taylor trade has a very good chance of actually happening. It actually makes too much sense not to happen.
 
nublar7 i hope your right. i hope they do trade him and again your right that it makes way to much sense not to happen, but i have this feeling it is not gonna happen. at least not for what everyone is thinking. a 2nd and 4th, not gonna happen.

I totally agree. And if they did trade for any big name players, I wouldn't necessarily be happy about it since we'd probably be overpaying. We need to build through the draft and develop our own players.

There is always a chance the trade may not happen. Parcells and Taylor have set the groundwork in case a deal can't be swung. You do have a very good point that the trade may not happen for what everybody is wanting/expecting.

The rumored value for a while has been a 2nd and 4th round pick, especially with Corey Williams getting traded for a 2nd round pick and with second tier defensive players like Jenkins and Stroud going for 3rd and 5th round picks. Common sense in trade values would indicate a player of Taylor's talent would at least get a 2nd and 4th round pick in return.

Though we have to remember he will be 34 when the season starts and has already contemplated retirement once so far. Add in that any team that trades for him will also get a big contract, we may be only able to get a 2nd round pick straight up for him. I love Taylor, but in the big picture, it is better to take that second round pick and use it to help build the team for the long term. Taylor will likely be headed to Hollywood full time in two years.
 
I just witnessed someone who had a meltdown because Deangelo Hall wasn't signed by us and is rumored to be going to the raiders.
People sure have a short memory, I can remember when we had a large chunk of the salary cap tied up in a few players. That didn't give us any room to compete with other teams who had a large salary cap surplus.
Now some people want us to blow our salary cap on a few big name players. We still have the draft and June cuts so its not over yet. You have to have faith, because without faith what do you have?
 
I beleive we will fill in the holes after the draft when we will know what holes have to be filled and there will be some bigger names available.
 
The JT trade might not come until draft day, but come April 26, Taylor will no longer be a Miami Dolphin.

Seriously though, I think its a lock that JT gets traded.

While I don't see it either, what if Oakland trades for Hall and takes the tag off Asomugha...now there's a big name we should jump on...

Look, for every player that has been released since January. there has been a "we should sign (blank)" thread...what makes you think it'll stop now ??

And last year, it was the same thing, and the year before, etc....get used to it...
