This will by far be Jake's toughest test because he really hasn't gone up against a pass rusher of Mario Williams' caliber, BUT the Texans aren't the only ones with a matchup like that.

I find it interesting that nobody is talking about Joey Porter and his 5.5 sacks going up against a very raw rookie LT by the name of Duane Brown? Throughout his career, Joey has fed off of going up against inexperienced players (whether it be a QB, OT, RB, whatever) and this will probably be no different.

Of course just another food for thought, the only team that Houston has looked really bad against is the Pittsburgh Steelers; a 3-4 team. We will be the 2nd 3-4 team the Texans have faced (and the Texans have a fairly small interior OL)

People talk about Mario vs Jake because guess who they are?......................................................................

Wait for it..........................................

#1 overall draft picks.

It's a great matchup to be sure but is it the most critical one? probably not, but,
again, guys are lashed to thier draft position like a prisoner in a cell. Like it or not, it's reality.

Well Houston has allowed 10 sacks this season and 6 INTs so If we pressure we should be able to cause some turnovers.

Im surprised Joey hasnt started the smack talk yet.

This will be a good matchup to watch. He SHOULD kill the guy. Anything less than 2 sacks is unacceptable

I believe Jake will handle him. In the Colts game, all of Mario's pressure came when he was against the TE and RB. He never got close against a tackle.

It's because people on both sides of the J.Long are ready to pounce after this matchup. Pro Jake's are salivating to tell the Con's that he's a great LT after he shuts Mario down. Con's are secretly hoping Jake kicks a$$ because no matter what their Dolphin fans but if by any chance he gets beat once they'll pounce all over the "He can't handle speed rushers" arguement.

We all know what Joey can do he's proven it over and over again. You would hope and assume that D.Brown will be beaten like a rented mule which will allow Roth to have a big day when they need to help D.Brown out.

he went up against Seymor, although that was a 3-4

While Duane Brown is still raw, he has gone up against pretty much nothing but the elite of the NFL:

James Harrison week 1
Kyle Vanden Bosch week 3
Reggie Hayward week 4
Dwight Freeney week 5

It's been a real trial by fire for Brown with Hayward being the weakest of that competition. However I'm not as worried about Porter as I am with the rest of the AFC South defensive ends. If I recall Brown gave up a lot of sacks vs Harrison, 1 to Haynesworth and 1 to Freeney. Brown doesn't get a whole lot of help on his side either as our blocking TE has been out the last few weeks. I'm fine with having Brown in as our LT for this game and I am guessing that Porter may get a sack, or he may not, it depends on how well the running game is going, and what the score is.

What I'm more worried about is your NT, because I have no idea who he is or what he's capable of. The last 3-4 we faced had Casey Hampton who is an absolute monster. I'm thinking that our interior line (While a little small) will be able to handle your NT a tad better than they were with Hampton.

our NT is a beast, and in way better condition than that fat boy casey hampton.. hes just 400 lbs, no athletic ability...
Jason Ferguson, is a very experienced NT and a team captain.. you should worry about our entire front 7... the way they've played the past 2 games... which is what they are now (they arent the same late reacting, week 1-2 guys)
Cuz if we wait and play more coverage our secondary will leave a guy wide open.. if we keep this amazing DL going our Lb's are all over the place... Our 3 down linemen have taken up 5 blockers... Jason Ferguson takes up the G and C's blocks and will stuff any running hole, and langford will win most 1on1 matchups... Basically... 4 rushers will occupy and beat up your 5-6 OL blockers so if we rush 5 or 6, we gonna own you guys.. i dont know much about your line, except owen daniels is really good and duane brown was a 1st round pick projected in the 2nd round..

I know you've imprived since Carr's record season.. but this New No Name Phin Def... is pretty nasty and i hope we keep up the intensity.. cuz if we do.. it's a blowout.. if we lose focus we will lose to a very underacheiving texans team.. i preddicted them as a wild card this year

What some may be overlooking is the fact that Kendall Langford is starting to require two blockers....and sometimes Ferguson as well..

This is what allows Porter to rack up sacks.....half of Porters sacks are the work of the rookie Langford.

i just hope jake doesnt drop back to fast in the pocket.i want jake to just step step and blast out using his strength.he cant let mario get to big ahead of steam.i'm also sure a couple of spin moves will in there to.maybe we should just run at mario for a while, with some play action .go jake.

Dang me and my girl were busting out laughing at your avatar. lol. It's a great one

P.S your team will get destroyed this week

Our Rookies are having a pretty good year on the D-line in Langford and Merling. I expect this to be a hard hitting game givin the outcome of the last three years of playing them. It will be close....maybe. I have no doubt about our defense except maybe Mr. ANDRE JOHNSON who I expect to have a great game against our Dolphins team. I hope it doesn't happen but #1 receivers have a knack for getting atleast one LONG catch against our team. Cotchery, Fitzgerald, Jackson...New England was really owned so Moss got his butt kicked...I hope they can contain it.
