People who are upset with the ronnie brown pick

Ronnie was the right pick. He can catch and will do better than average on the ground. He seems to be more mature than the other backs available. The only question will be his durability. Although, I wanted the excitement of Edwards. Brown will work out.

the guy has passion...he will punish....it was better then Browns clueless banter..........i like brown dont get me wrong...think benson will be better...and we need a QB !...i hope to god that we find someone!...with our 0-line n feeley the poor kids in trouble!

That's why you aren't a GM.
Exactly!. These people are killing me. If you have the choice between Terrell Owens (Edwards) and LaDainian Tomlinson (Brown), who do you choose? I say Tomlinson all day long.

We needed a QB more than a RB, are you KIDDING ME? Did you see our RB's last year? I have more faith in A.J. than I do in Morris, Gordon, or Minor.

drafting a running back is no sure thing....

....ESPECIALLY with the Dolphin's luck in drafting RBs. Furthermore, this is one head of a two headed running attack. Will he adjust to carrying the full load of the Dolphins? Will he be able to live up to 2nd overall pick expectations? Will he justify the enormous salary he's going to command? Will any RB be able to do anything behind our offensive line?

The Dolphins have had so many draft day tragedies at running back. Even when we trade our picks for RBs, they crap out. 2 1sts for Ricky, a 3rd for Gordon.

He may turn out to be good despite all the bad precedents.

Given that the Dolphins have not drafted this high in a long time, and we really needed this pick, I only rate the pick as a success if...

Ronnie Brown has 10 1000 yard seasons as a member of the Dolphins. 5 of those must be 1500 yard seasons.

It could turn out to be a good pick, but I wish the high priced Nick Saban could have taken that pick and turned it into two 1st rounds and some lower rounds pick as was speculated.

For as much as the super coach is being paid, we don't need him to take the player people were thinking he would 3 months earlier. Not exactly a draft day genius, judging from his first pick at least (or is Spielman still running the show).

Someone needed to tell him about the Dolphin history of running backs: death by car accidents, cocaine busts, injuries, marijuana, leaving to join a new league ( and then becoming one of the hosts of American Gladiator )...

I hope I'm wrong, but the pick of Brown really depressed me.

I don't think anyone is genuinely upset. Brown is a very good player. I certainly didn't slot him in the top two. When the questionmark about a running back is instincts, I've NEVER seen that overcome on the way to greatness. The concern is always proven legit.

My preferences were Smith, Mike Williams and Caddy. It was obvious the past few days Williams was slipping and would be available somewhat later. None of us know the trade down possibilities or specifics. I would have taken Caddy, the best back in this draft.

Nick was great to draft Ronnie Brown. We will never regret this.

That's what I say....How can we lose with this pick??...

Brown is a monster, and can do it all. He's taken less of a beating, and has the best hands among the top three backs taken. We couldn't afford to pass on him, especially with no word on where we stand with Ricky....

Just for speculation, imagine him and Ricky in the same backfield. UNREAL....

PHINZ RULE!!!

On general principle

I think it is too early to take a running back...that being said of the running backs...I clearly think Brown is the best. Thank god we didn't take Benson...

Edwards would have been my choice, but let's trust Saban enough to know the SEC guy.

Ill be beyond happy with the Brown pick if some way thr Fins trade up to #23 and get the QB that i wanted all along in Rodgers. It's not that im upset with picking Brwon..i think he's great but i see QB as being a bigger need and if we can correct this and somehow get Rodgers ill be beyond happy. As of right now im dissapointed.
With all due respect, I don't see how anyone that followed last year can say that QB is a bigger need than RB. We went through what? 6 RB's last year? You can mask an inept QB (Feeley) by giving your team another dimension (Brown). You CANNOT mask the lack of a running game! This move in itself will help Feeley by giving him more time to throw the ball because they cant put 8 in the box or rush 6. Also it gives him an added dimension by having a back that can catch a screen and take it 60 yds to the house!:D

brown is really unknown..did he prove he can carry the rock 25 or 30 times?..he never started!!!!.....will he take the load in miami...not sure...plus he is almost 24 years old...ouch...i know one thing..Benson has proven he can carry the load..look at those stats...!........i hope brown works out !.........or we are in for another looooong year

We spend 20 million and another 1st round pick on an RB sigh that 3 first round picks on an RB alrdy. He didnt even have 1,000 yards and only had 34 catches and 24 years old again we get back to running the ball Wanndstatt crap :nono: . We gave Fielder a top defense,Chambers,Mcmichael,Derius,Ricky and we still didnt get to playoffs.Feeley is no better than Fiedler. I wudda traded down for him he's good but not worth #2 overall for sum1 who has done nothing in college.
