Just a thought and it's very realistic to believe that Culpepper's shoulder problem is a result of mechanics. This is not a Culpepper bash.
It's obvious to me that Culpepper, from preseason to now, has lacked the zip on his passes that he has had in the past. And it's also obvious that Culpepper hasn't been stepping into his throws and he has remained flat-footed for the most part. The result is using more arm and shoulder to get zip into his passes. This can result in inflammation (bursitis) in the shoulder and elbow. When I played I had a knee and ankle injury and this happened to my elbow/shoulder. I was compensating the loss of strength in my legs with my arm. It is a painful injury and it isn't unrealistic to over-use the arm so much that you start getting tears in the rotator cuff and other problems in the joints.
