1 hit away from Christopher Reeves...no way. Get a young big ass tight end to work with Clay. Jace Armaro might be there at 19, if Zack Martin is off the board.

How was Jennings a missed opportunity? A 5-year, $47.5 million contract with $18 million guaranteed vs. what we got in Gibson for the same $9.78 million for 3 years. I'll take Gibson, easily. Not even close really. Jones? I don't think there's been a more overhyped WR in a while. He's certainly up there. Again, I don't see how he's an improvement over anything we already have. Hardly a mistake.

What interior linemen were available? Scott Wells? We already had "one of the best centers in the NFL" (really should be THE best where he was drafted, but I digress). Van Roten? Dietrich-Smith? He's most famous for getting stomped on. Decent depth I suppose.

Neither Raji nor Pickett were big needs. Starks has familiarity with the system and continues to be underrated for some reason. Further, I doubt Pickett's availability. He's been on that team longer than anybody. Woodson? He was coming off of a broken collarbone at 36 years old and was showing serious decline. Grimes was the far better risk in that scenario. Seemed to work out quite well actually as Carroll stepped up (finally).

I'm on the fence regarding Philbin (always prefer cleaning house), but I can't knock him on this. In fact, it seems like his inside knowledge has saved us more than hurt us (again, Flynn). I guess we'll see if he was right regarding Jones, but it will take more than one good season with arguably the best QB in the league to convince me.
 
Finley should retire. His injury was scary and his family has urged him to retire. He should heed their wishes.

Joe did not need an "Armada" of his former players. However, a few would have allowed him to get his plan further in place.

If you want to defend Joe on this, I would blame Jeff Ireland.

With that said, Joe has a HUGE year in front of him. This might be his last chance to figure this out.

Bingo. Graham offer was a joke. I believe it was a gauge offer. The answer lies behind closed doors. Did Hickey say to forget Jordan, hes not even up for discussion or did he say, "You've got to do much, much better than that."?

As to the thread, if if they both heal, id choose Keller over Finley. Man, Keller looked so fluid before he was injured. I was elated and then crushed almost to tears. I was selfish in the moment, " Just our luck." Then i realized Keller's misfortune.

But i am really not worried about our offense outside OL. Im really not. Those of you who know football know what a universe of difference connecting with Wallace deep for touchdowns wouldve affected defenses. Thats the key.

My hope is that Tanne has spent all season long just throwing deep. He needs to lead Wallace with accuracy and boom, weve got big play, 60 yrd touchdowns at our disposal. Defenses will have to respect. Running the ball becomes that much easier. And Clay has the after the catch ability to move chains from underneath on any down as well as the hands for deep routes.
 
I would love to get a more complete pass catching TE who could stretch the field!
 
There is no way in the world i would even consider Finley. he is at best, an average TE. Clay is twice the threat, faster, more elusive and has better hands. Keller, if he comes back OK, would be a bonus. Sims & Egnew are unknowns....

Im with you, and others, I really miss Fasano. Great blocking TE and surprisingly okay at receiving; albeit slow as hell though but in the red zone it didn't matter. I think he would have helped protect Tannehill a lot more last season
 
Finley is an absolute stud when healthy, if the doctors clear him, sign him up

If he's healthy, he's an asset. But that's a big IF and we wait for sure to find out, I think we then get into a bidding war with someone. So either gamble now or pay later with less risk. I was hoping Keller would be able to make it back, but that's looking less certain as the off-season plays out. A little concerning that the PATS are looking at him. Do they know something we don't or are they just more willing to risk a spot for him ?
