Per nfl.com: Chicago, Adam gase, =21st best offense

In Gase’s first season as coordinator, the Broncos scored an NFL-record 606 points and advanced to Super Bowl XLVIII. The following year, they scored 482 points, the league’s second-highest total.

Coaches can't do anything if they don't have the right players, just like players can't do anything if they don't have the right coaches.

Cutler, Forte, Bennett, White, Jeffrey all missed multiple games. At least do your homework before posting this.

Don't forget they traded Marshall because they thought White, who missed the entire season, was going to replace him.

So Gase is effective when he has a star studded list of players but not so much when he has backups? Gotcha.

Things will be just fine here ladies and gentlemen! This is clearly our guy!

Downplay all you want, but OP has a great point: 21st in total offense. OR put another way: Just out of the top ten worst offenses in the NFL. Which one makes you feel better?

So predictable. I can already hear the excuses come this time next year...

"Xxxxxx doesn't fit Gase's system, it's not his fault!"
"Players were injured, how is this Gase's fault?"
"Tannenbaum needs to go, Ross needs to sell the team, they're holding back Gases' potential!"

I've been extremely disgusted by the decisions of this organization on who they let run our team. There are experienced, well-qualified coaches out there and we're seriously entertaining this guy? What's wrong with a hire with no NFL HC experience, you ask? Nothing! Just... Nick Saban, Cam Cameron, Tony Sparano, and Joe Philbin. Hasn't really worked out for us as of late. Again, extremely disgusted - As in, I just about ruined my shirt/laptop as I was typing out each name. I have much respect for a lot of the longtime posters on this forum, but I question your judgement on this one. To sum up my little rant... Does Adam Gase come across as a "LEADER OF MEN"? Because we can sure as hell use one right about now.

So who should we go after if Gase is such a worthless bum?

Even with the injuries and the loss of Brandon Marshall, the offense improved in every single statistical category over 2014....and also had fewer turnovers and penalties, a great indicator of effective coaching.

Of course this is no guarantee of success, but Dolphin fans would be bitching if we didn't go after and secure the hottest prospect...

Let's recap:

- Their best receiver, Brandon Marshall was traded to New York.
- The guy they drafted to replace him missed the entire season.
- Their offense is so beat up that not one single offensive skill player starts all 16 games.
- Jay Cutler misses one start. Matt Forte misses three starts. Alshon Jeffery misses EIGHT starts. Martellus Bennett misses five starts. Eddie Royal misses seven starts. Cutler is out there throwing to some dudes named Marquess Wilson, Khari Lee, and Marc Mariani.
- The Bears had the 4th hardest SoS in the entire NFL. They played the NFC North, AFC West, and NFC West this year. The three best defensive divisions in football this year.
- The Bears turned over their entire coaching staff in the off-season. Gase is starting from scratch.

In spite of all this, the Chicago Bears score more points in 2015 than they did in 2014. Jay Cutler posts a career best in passing yards per attempt, and turns the ball over fewer times per dropback than he ever has in his career to date.

I think it's safe to say that Adam Gase is a competent offensive coordinator. I do not know if he will be a good head coach, but I would take him as my team's offensive coordinator on any day of the week. He has proved that if you give him outstanding offensive talent, he will give you the highest scoring offense in NFL history. If you give him complete and utter garbage to work with, he will still score more points than at least 9 other teams that have more talent to work with.

I'm willing to give this guy a chance.

I don't get the Gase hype either. I don't think he can assemble a terrific supporting cast (who would be the defensive coordinator, offense ?). I would rather Miami hire someone with experience, Shanahan or Coughlin and have Campbell be the assistant coach.
