I knew it was inevitable but was kind of hoping we could avoid it. They must have a plan for FA that they needed the cap space.

i wish we could have just got past the worst of this bad deal

Saves us about $15M now according to Jackson, but screws us in the future possibly. Must be planning to sign someone big, or they know they are getting Mario and have more agreements in place.

Anyone who knows how tannenbaum operates saw this coming. Needs to free up some space to make some splash signings now. I'll wait to see who he binges on before I **** on him yet again - but this typically does not a good team make. Would've been smarter to absorb the suh hit and be done with it but we'll see how the win now thing goes. Serenity now, insanity later

He is a closer, that is his strength, not managing NFL teams.

He will be gone in a few years, :grim:

cynically I feel the worse he messes things up the quicker Ross decides to play with his money in other ways

and sells the team.

Had to make this move to be competitive.

Some where, some way and some day this team is going to need to find great talent in the draft. We can't keep thinking that FA is the way to go. To add a few key pieces, but the draft has got to be our foundation.

They just have to nail the qb spot

Meh not worried about it with Grimes coming off the books either this year or next.

I doubt Albert is back after 1 more year unless he restructures.

Grimes saves us $6.5 cutting him outright or $8 at a June 1st cut. Just don't like the dead money that was amortized during the later years of his contract when and if he starts to break down. We'll see if it matters or not.

This actually seems like a pretty big deal. I think this move is significant. Earl Mitchell maybe next?

Would save us $2.5 to cut Mitchell.

Mortgage his contract onto the next coach, what else is new.

Awesome now let's put the right players around Suh.
