Ryan Tannehill - QB - Dolphins
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are prepared to move on from Ryan Tannehill after this season rather than pay him the $19 million he's owed over the next two years.

None of Tannehill's 2019-2020 scheduled pay is guaranteed, so it will be an easy cord to cut. By releasing or trading Tannehill, the Fins would save $13.2 million under the 2019 salary cap, or $18.7 million if he's designated a post-June 1 cut. Amid reports the front office will also be cleaned out, the Dolphins' organization appears headed for a near-full overhaul this offseason.

A step in the right direction but the replacement of Tannenbaum and Tannehill can easily take two steps back. Ross’ history shows missteps on every path taken.

End of an era. What I will remember and cherish the most about the Tannehill years will be...uhh, ...... the Miami Miracle. And that’s about it.

I’ll forever cherish that time he had no idea what the divisions were.

On a serious note though, he wasn’t awful and his toughness was unmatched

I wish Tannehill nothing but the best and he's been a class act. I really like Tannehill but he lacks the moxie for the position,. We need that killer instinct, someone who is going to put the team on their back. He never did that when it truly mattered.

Even if we take two steps back, then so be it. That just means a top draft pick to go in the right direction.

If no real draftable QB no reason to move on from him yet
Gase and f.o. yes

Gase, Burke and Tbomb should be fired first.
Keep RT unless they sign Foles or Bridgewater.
The new coach should have a say in who will be QB

No new coach is going to sign on with a brand spanking new 2nd year QB who he didn't get to pick unless he is an instant success. If the QB is an instant success, we're not getting a new coach. So getting rid of Tannehill A YEAR BEFORE you bring in a new coach is just plain unwise.

I doubt we get rid of Tannehill, surely Ross' football people have explained this to him.

I get it, we always said if we weren't happy with him we'd cut him now … and the salary cap is aligned to cutting him this year or next. Tannehill was foolish and it cost the Dolphins big-time when he decided against ACL surgery when he got injured the first time. But, if Ross has even the most basic holistic approach, he understands how every new coach wants HIS own QB, not somebody else's leftover of some fired coach who the QB just got canned. Well, we've been dysfunctional before … I guess its up to Ross if he wants to do it intentionally now.

The market has nothing. This feels like moving in to move on. Anyone who is available is a replacement, not an upgrade. I suppose we’ll just, “draft a first round QB too”. This should go well, can’t wait!
