[h=3]Dolphins[/h] Brooks' perfect draft pair: Clemson DE Kevin Dodd (Round 1, pick 13); Arkansas RB Alex Collins (Round 2, pick 42)
Brooks' take: You can call Dodd a one-year wonder, but he really dominated at the end of the season. He has outstanding athleticism and nice size. He'll need some time to develop, but who better to learn from than Mario Williams and Cameron Wake? Dodd can be a third defensive end at the outset and eventually give you the production that you want. As for Collins, he was very productive in the SEC (exceeded the 1,000-yard mark three times). He does a great job running inside and can get to the edges, too. He has a knack for finding that crease. You want a guy who can command an eight-man box in this offense. Collins is certainly good enough to do it.

Thoughts?

converted de at corner? risky

I wouldn't be totally against Dodd, I like the potential, but I'd rather see the Phins draft best available corner in the 1st and the best available ol in the second. We've got to plug those to massive holes! Go w/ ajayi and get a back later in the draft to compliment him.

That would be a good way to waste our first couple picks. 2 total reaches on underwhelming players. I'm expecting something along these lines so draft day isn't a total shock when the unthinkable happens

I like Dodd but I believe there will be better options available at 13. As for running back, I really like Devantae Booker.

I think adding a talented defensive end like Kevin Dodd is a good idea because he could develop into one of the successors to Cam Wake (34) or Mario Williams (31). The kid clearly has talent as a pass rusher and you can never have enough pass rushers. He might need a bit of coaching up, but with Cam and Mario as the starters, having Dodd as the third or fourth DE in the rotation would be a good learning curve for him.

As for Alex Collins, I haven't seen enough of him to comment.

I think Apple & Cody Whitehair would be better.

As do i but i think id go apple and emmanuel ogbah with 3rd round picks on cyrus jones (slot only...dont like the player on the boundary) og joe dahl in round 4 and paul perkins round 5

Scuttlebutt is perkins may carry a 5th round grade in league circles...if so im on it

Id sub in victor ochi later though if ogbah was gone and whitehair was the 42 pick

That would be a solid draft for sure hoops

You think Ogbah makes it to our second round pick though?

I think theres s solid shot because not every scheme is gonna like him...and hes not stout enough at the poa to play a standard 43 de...wide 9 is ideal fit

If we wide 9 that would be my target...make him a situational sub package rusher as a rookie and rotational de package wise

Cyrus jones gives us needed bobby mccain comp in the slot and hes extremely fluid...he just plays so small on the boundary...like him as a slot

I dont see the pure press corner needs in the slot either...cyrus jones transitions very well

I do think there will be decent running backs lasting till the 4th and maybe 5th.

I'd be ok with Ogbah in the 2nd...I would really like to see the line solidified though.

Well the pass rushers arent gonna last long especially the ones with high end physical tools...after ogbah im pretty much interested in ochi and thats it...you cant teach that ochi kids get off
