I have heard some local media guys (and I even made the comparison myself the first time I watched the Gruden show) say that Ryan Tannehill and Chad Henne have a similar personality. After seeing recent post-draft interviews with Tannehill, I must say he seems to carry himself with a quiet confidence that was missing from Henne.

Compare these two videos, both after they were both just drafted:

Chad Henne:

Henne just stares with this blank look on his face and has a very non-expressive tone of voice when he speaks. Inspires no confidence whatsoever. This never really got better during his tenure with the Dolphins, and was one reason he could never take over the team, especially coming after a guy like Pennington who oozed personality and confidence.

Ryan Tannehill: @ 2:22

Right off the bat, Tannehill seems much more excited and expressive than Henne ever did. In fact, Tannehill actually sounds a lot like Tim Tebow. He doesn't seem flustered by the moment at all and finishes an interview without looking like a robot slug.

tannehill def isnt a robot. the guy can actually be pretty ****y. which is good. i love that he pretty much called sherman out in the pre draft visit. if you havent heard the story ireland sat the philbin and sherman in a room with tannehill and asked why sherman didnt let him play qb, and he told sherman he made a mistake. he has confidence in his ability, something henne also lacked

Henne's play showed significant improvement last year. Only so much a QB can do when the supposed alpha-WR can't hold on to TD passes. Skews the stats and costs the team wins.

I'll say it...Don't be surprised if Henne turns out to be the QB in Jacksonville we wish we had in Miami!

He definitely improved last year, and also seemed to be more vocal, but I don't think the team ever viewed him as a leader. I actually think the team had more confidence in Matt Moore than Henne last year.

I think Henne will have a great career as a journeyman/backup like Gus Frerotte, but he will never be bonafide starter imo.

I think Henne in Jacksonville will be better for Miami, better for Jacksonville and better for Henne.

Henne's a meathead for sure. That being said, I don't think he ever could've shook the perception that the fans and the media had built up around him. Even with winning there as always... well blah blah blah 3rd quarter missed throw blah blah. Seriously every mistake he made was scrutinized and amplified by the fan bases impatience and growing frustration. Was every loss his fault? nope. He got too much blame for the losses, and zero credit for the wins. but that's the way it goes, you live and die by the quarterback you pick, and they picked henned and promptly died. How jeff ireland survived Idk, other than perhaps he had proof of who he would've drafted instead of who they did draft during the parcels drafts. Maybe jeff would've taken matt ryan in the 1st. IDK.

If it wasnt one excuse for Henne, it was another. Its undeniable that the team was better with Matt Moore than Chad Henne. Fact. Not even an argument. I wish Henne well, but lets be real here.

The thing about Henne is he definitely gave off the impression, whether true or not, that he felt that he was already good enough, that it was a given that he was a starter in this league.

will this crap ever end? lets discuss if each come from similar bloodlines....ay yi yi
