OK we all wanted a better outcome after 2 weeks. The polar nature of this board will become real evident this week. Howe ver after 2 weeks I will give my shot to some objectivity...

We lost to 2 pretty good teams. Buffalo played NE tough in week 1 and we had the SB champs beat with 6 min. left. That said...we are 0-2 and you are what your record is. C-Pepp is not going to be the godsend many on here want to believe, nor is he as bad as he played the first 2 weeks. IMHO he is a QB that is better that Gus and the rest...but is still coming off a major injury and playing himself back into game shape. Many said Whitlock was an idiot for his comments...I look forward to the apologies to JW on here....not. He will be an above average QB IMO but not going to carry a team.

Bennie Anderson is the worst OL I have seen, with due apologies to Bert Weidner and Brent Smith for giving him that award.....Jacox is not much better. RG is our weak link and Shelton has not lived up to his end of his contract yet.

Thank goodness for Wes Welker,,,, nuff said.

Our DB's are below average obviously but IMO will get better with the return of Travis Daniels. We cannot afford ANY injuries here, we have no depth. Y. Bell needs to be on the field, Tillman is servicable but not a quality NFL starter. W. Allen has dissapointed but has some moments.

We have 2 beatable teams coming up and C-Pepp should be coming around by Week 5....

Spragen is average and our weak link at LB. Again we have real good options but Derrick Pope has always played well depite not "looking the part" of a Saban LB.....

Positives:Welker, Jeno James, McMike, Chambers, Carter, Zach, Traylor, Crowder, Booker, Ronnie Brown, and Roth.

Negatives:Bennie Anderson, Bennie Anderson, Bennie Anderson, Shelton, C-Pepp, W. Allen, J. Allen, Tillman, Taylor (yep...sorry...), Spragen, and Bowens.

Push:Hadnot, Carey, Holliday, Zgonina, Hill, Bell, Wilkenson, and Hagan.

My suggestions: Play with 10 guys on Offense...whoever is at RG seems to get in the way and does not do anything anyway....sar.....put Berger in either at C (move Hadnot to RG) or at RG, as soon as he is healthy...DB's put Bell on the field for Tillman and get Daniels on the field even if he is 80%......and get Jason allen ready by week 5....

Our problems are not as bad as made out nor are we as good as we were hyped to be....we are an 8-9 win team that may eek out 10 wins. things will look better at 2-2 (hopefully) IMHO, but the same issues will be there...DB and RG (depth and quality...), C-Pepp will be getting better and hopefully we will find a RG...the season is not over but we cannot live with the same ole,,,,ole,,,and the same guys are not going to get it done obviously IMHO.....some changes are needed but they are not wholesale...RG and S....

8 wins is turning out to look like our maximum rather than our minimum number IMHO.
Unless we get some sort of metaphysical kick in the collective butt, we will be very lucky to reach .500. The way our O is playing right now, they look like a 6 win team.

Wait.....you think Roth is a positive and Taylor is a negative? I must have been watching the wrong game today. I saw one positive play for Roth today and it was the only time I've noticed the kid in 2 games. Taylor has been a force in both games in my opinion so I have to disagree with ya on this one.

From what I've seen so far it looks to me like there are more underachievers on this years squad that Saban was hoping to make overachievers. The secondary is still suspect with the exception of Bell in my opinion. I believe they should have kept Deke Cooper and I hope this Jason Allen kid knows enough of the system to start next week along with Travis Daniels. The offensive line should have been tankered with this offseason. Saban should have built on the o-line success at the end of last season by adding depth not revamping the line all together.

How was McMichael a positive?!?!?! He had 2 penalties and dropped a wide open pass in the red zone.

Relative to expectations I think so...but its only my opinion. You expect Taylor to be disruptive and to make game changing plays, IMO he has not done that yet....IMO he will and is still very capable....I think he will cause those disruptions and change games this year. Roth I don't think many expected much but he has held his own at the point and made a play or 2 in limited time, I would expect to see more of him in the rotation...IMO only....

I'm sure you're right about Roth but it'll take a few more plays like the one I saw today to change my opinion. I saw Jason in the backfield quite a few times the last 2 games and the opposing qb's were quick to get rid of the ball most of those times. On another note, I would like to see Wilkenson get more than his share of playing time next week and for David Bowens to become more of a factor. What I've seen from Will Allen is the same as I've seen in all his years here in NY as a Giant. The guy will hurt Miami by getting beat on more deep plays than you can imagine.

the buffalo bills are not a good team and we lost to them at home if we continue to play like we did today we might have a worse record then wannys 4-12 team . i never seen any wanny team look that bad.:tantrum:

allen may help if he learns and plays. daniels will help if healthy. i hate giving up so much yardage on the ground, come on big daddy we need ya.i don't have a solution for the line, h houck please work some magic, and culpep man you must make better reads and decisions

You want some perspective? None of the teams that were in the playoffs last year started 0-2. How's that for perspective?

I do not claim to "know" if the Phins will make the playoffs...however over the long term 1990-2004, 17 teams started 0-2 and made the playoffs, 2 winning Super bowls (93 Cowboys, 01 Pats). Personally I think this is an 8 or 9 win team...time will tell. One point made is that if we go into week 5, 2-2 then this board will say we "righted the ship". That may or may not be the case...right now this team is average at best IMO. The problems we see are problems we knew or should have known early, a QB that is rusty at best, over rated at worst, RG, and the DBfield. Same as we knew in the PS.

This much is VERY clear .... even 10 wins might not get a wildcard berth this year ....

BAL, PIT, CIN & JAX will be pushing hard for those 2 spots ... the only good news there is that PIT, BAL & CIN play each other ... but all of those teams are at LEAST 10 game winners ..... [barring injury of course] ....

SO, at 0-2 in the AFC already .... PHINS HAVE to go 8-2 the rest of the way in the AFC to even have a SHOT at a WC ....

11 wins will get it done, no matter what teams make up the wins and losses. That's just history for you.

I agree with your implication totally...I do not think that a wildcard will come from our division. Personally I do not think this is a playoff team but the pack it in threads are overstated in my estimation.
