I would just like to make a statement to all lifelong Dolphins fans like myself who have been very frustrated for a long time: RELAX! It ain't gonna happen this year! Bill Parcells is a proven molder of winning teams, but it will take longer than one off season for this to turn around. 1) For all the frustrated fans who continually beg for trades/free agent signings of WRs and DBs, it isn't gonna happen this year. The good ones are on other teams. We will develop our own and draft WR/DB talent over the next year or two. BP is building this team from the linemen on out, and he has made some great drafts and young free agent signings to build on. 2) For eveyone freaked out about someone being cut after a game, relax. BP always wants his people to be accountable. Grigsby was expendable, as are many others on this roster. It will continue to happen this year, but don't sweat it, these people can be replaced. 3) Some of you are worried about disrupting the chemistry of the team by replacing starters, etc: this team is not going to the playoffs. Chemistry will be developed over the course of this season and the next 1 or 2 as new and better players are added.

I just see so much anger and negativity on this forum, but keeping things in perspective may help people relax. We were 1-15 last year, we may win 4-6 games this year (and get good draft picks again next year), and Parcells DOES know what he is doing. Just enjoy watching the young guys grow and look to the future, but take it easy today. This decline has taken years of poor management and coaching to happen, and it will take years to build it back up.

Spot on Post. I have been preaching this on this site for a while but some fans just dont understand. I dont care how you look at it, we were 1-15 last year and we were a 1-15 team talent wise. Bill Parcells had an amazing off-season to say the least. I thought the draft was the best in many many years here in Miami as we got a lot of young potential there and some good free agents such as Smiley, plus that trade that got us Fasano and Ayodele-great trade!

Agreed. I actually enjoyed watching not only the afore mentioned Fasano, Ayodele and Smiley, but especially Langford and Merling. Wow did those guys look athletic, fast, and motivated to play well. I see a good future in the making here. And yes, they only mentioned Jake Long's name during those 2 penalties, but this guy is the real deal, just wait and see.

Very good points. This stuff is true. Whether you have Bill Parcells or any other person taking over your franchise.

WR's typically take 3 years until they 'turn it on' ...there are exceptions, of course

we should lay off ginn

The majority of the posters on this forum will freak out on a weekly basis. Trying to talk reason to them is very admirable though.

I agree. I think giving up picks for guys like Boldin or Lito Sheppard is stupid.. haven't people learned that that's not the route to take to build a winner?

We should be doing the exact opposite. We should be hoping there are injuries to OLB's on contending teams so maybe we can pass Porter off for a 2nd or 3rd.. If Porter wakes up and plays lights out over the next few weeks it can happen.. We should also hope we can get a 3rd or 4th for Vonnie Holliday if a contending team loses a defensive end or two.

We should keep doing moves like the Chambers for a 2nd move. We already have our first and two 2nd's in next years draft (thank you Snider from the foreskins), and a couple more moves in the same direction would set us up VERY nicely in next years draft.. I would really like to have 5 picks in the top 60 next year...

We can seriously clean up next offseason with signings and the draft.. BTW, I would really like to get Haynesworth, he is a Parcells type player. Last Sunday the dude played with a concussion for 3 quarters and dominated anyway. He would be a terrific UFA pickup to really make our D-line fearsome.

While I agree with you on the turnover of the players but I do expect and hope we have good and improved coaching. That is the only consitent they we have had in Miami and that is inconsitent coaching. The only coach who was around for awhile was Wanny after Shula which created many of these problems. I like Ireland alot and Parcells while has his flaws he is a proven winner I just feel we are in the dark with Tony Sporano hopefully he can coach his players up and is a smart coach. It sounds like he is a workaholic which is promising.

I agree that we should go with young players and draft picks, and I also agree that Parcells has a good football mind and a pretty good track record with drafting talent.

I do wonder some if Parcells/Henning are stuck in the 80's smashmouth mentality. How does Philly get Desean Jackson to run all over the place in his first pro game and we can't get diddly out of Ginn yet? How does NE go five wide all last year with success etc.? I want to see some signs of creativity that keeps defenses on their heels.

I'm all for pounding Ronnie and Ricky and being a tough, physical team. It just seems to me that there is a trend around the league to sprinkle in no-huddles, gadgets, and creative formations/play calls etc. I worry that Parcells/Henning are stuck in the past and refuse to change. I have a friend who is a Cowboys fan and he said that the Cowboys did no gadget plays last year. That could reflect some on Parcells and Sparano influence in Dallas (as well as Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett obviously).

Defensively, the Parcells 3-4 really needs dynamic pass-ruishing OLB's to shine. We will struggle in my opinion until we hit on a DeMarcus Ware type player in the draft.

The thing that I like best about Parcells now is that when he leaves before his contract is up (as he has done time and time again) at least everything should be in place for a smooth transition and the franchise will certainly be in better shape than when he first got here.

This team will win more than 4 to 6 games.

People are gonna figure out that the Jets are for real and that the Dolphins played one hell of a tough game against a formidable, playoff team.

Pennington changed our trajectory for this year.

A lot of people are gonna be very surprised by this team!

Yeah I agree. I was kind of upset we lost this game. We certainly should have won it. I personally felt going in this team had the make-up to finish above .500 and sniff the playoffs. Bottom line is I know there are too many holes to go anywhere even if they were lucky enough to make it. So I was pretty upset at the stupid coaching decisions, but looking at it now, Sparano is in his first year and he needs to improve as well. For what its worth, down the road we may look back and be happy in a way this game was lost, cause it will lead to a better draft position. The guy build the Cowboys, and look at them! We will be in better shape next year, and great shape the following. Three years from now look out!!!!

With New England, their OLine has been outstanding for a long time, I didnt see their game V the Chiefs but I did watch the Dallas OLine complete and utterly dominate the Browns DLine, and when you get that much protection your skill players can be creative. At Philly you have a very good quaterback & offense playing a very poor team. Dont get me wrong I see stuff like that and Royal at Denver and think we are being short changed but also remember that we ran a flee-flicker play against the Jets where Ginn would have gone untouched into the End Zone as he was passed the CB with the FS sat their bitting on the run; it failed as Ricky didnt get the chance to get the ball back to Chad but it shows some creative play calling.
