DAVIE, Fla. -- Can Reggie Bush be a between-the-tackles runner?

The Miami Dolphins
better hope so.

Bush, who came over in a trade from the Saints, is hell-bent on proving that he can be that
and more.

"I get a chance to actually be a running back," Bush said. "I get to showcase
who I am as a running back. I get a chance to show I can be a complete back.
It's exciting for me. It's something I haven't had since I've been in the
NFL."

Larry told sparano he feels like he is in his twenties

Reggie says he can be a between the tackles runningback and stay healthy.

History begs to differ.
Should be interesting.

none of his injuries were from running between the tackles.

Dont disagree with that statement.

He scurried and danced to the outside before he could get touched... THEN he got injured.
or last year he had a lineman fall on his leg in a PR pile and broke his shin.

You can twist and rationalize the facts any way you want. Throughout his career Reggie has been a supremely inefficient runner and can't stay healthy.

I hope this year is different, but anyone who can't accept that it would be an anomaly if he somehow stayed healthy is just lying to themselves.

Bush hasn't run between the tackles and at some point it looks like we may need him to do just that. I think they used him well in the last preseason game. I wouldn't expect him to get more than 15 carries a game at best. He will also catch quite a few so I'm predicting 20 touches a game for him. We need him to stay healthy or we're looking at Thomas, Hilliard, and LJ.

Like I posted a few days ago. EVERYTIME he touches the ball I am wondering if he is getting back up without any issues.

Because if he gets back up then we are good to go because this kid can play. In fact, BUSH might be the reason Henne and this entire coaching staff (maybe even the GM) get to keep their jobs. Whereas without Bush, I think our enitre offense loses a whole dimension that we can't afford to lose.

It doesnt help that our training staff isn't very good (at least I dont think so) so if anything I hope he calls up Zach Thomas and invests in a hyperbolic chamber or whatever Zach used for a long time to stay healthy.

i always knew the saints werent using this guy correctly because of his size.

I'm not rationalizing anything...people are saying he isn't durable enough to carry the load...but none of his injuries came from that, since he's never actually carried the load....you're trying to draw a connection where there is none...correlation ≠ causation. He may get injured again, any rational person would be aware of that possibility but it won't be because he carried the ball too much and couldn't take the pounding...
