e. Julius Peppers wants to go elsewhere. The Panthers aren't going to let him, not without significant compensation. Look for this one to last a long time, for the Panthers to franchise Peppers and try to entice an offer of at least a first-rounder for him. Wouldn't be surprised to see Miami offer its first-round pick for him. It'd be a fair offer. Peppers and Phillip Merling would be a nice combo in the Dolphins' 3-4 scheme.

I highly doubt that Miami would give up a first for a 29 year old player who never played in a 3-4 and King seems to think that he would play DE in the 3-4 which would be a waste of his ability.

yea Peppers in the 3-4 as a DE. . . blah, but I am VERY intrigued with his potential as a OLB. But a First rounder . . . I mean it is risky and would be expensive. I don't think we do that.

BP and company will not give a draft pick for him, especially a first. hes got potential but they dont want to take a chance. when we can get a 21 or 20 year old who will be here to stay for a while. plus with the signing of wake and we already have depth at DE. no way we spend a first on peppers. and king is stupid if he thinks peppers is a DE in a 3-4.

LOL, Peppers wants to be in a 3-4 so he won't have to be a down linemen. He wants to play standing up. Peter King thinks he wants to be a 3-4 DE? What an idiot.

wow, a 1st? I'd rather not. Now, if Wannspiel or some other previous boneheaded regime were at the helm, I'd say yeah. They'd just waste the pick anyway.

Peppers has potential?? Sorry, but after you dominate at this level, you don't need to discuss 'potential' anymore. Even if you are talking about 'potential' for the 3-4 defense, he's proven what his strengths are and you can design your D to take advantage of them (just look at Porter and the difference the right game plan meant for him)

Another thing that I have to ask is how you feel that Wake gives us DE depth, but Peppers couldn't play DE for us?? I would much rather have the 285 pound Peppers at DE than a 245 pound Wake.

wake is gonna be an OLB. not a DE. he is a DE in a 4-3 and OLB in a 3-4, as well as peppers.

I'm with you on that.....but I misread and thought you wrote "plus with the signing of wake we already have depth at DE" missed the 'and we already have.....' part.

my bad.

lol. i wrote it a little confusing. sorry. i had alot of stuff i wanted to say and i actually confused myself for a little bit. its ok man.

It's intriguing, but I just can't give up a 1st round pick for Julius Peppers. That said, I still can't shake a play from my memory he made a few years back against the Ravens. He came upfield hard and Baltimore had a screen setup on the opposite side, Peppers sprinted a good 40 yards upfield and well across it, so probably a 60-70 yard sprint, and with one hand punched the ball away from the Ravens player (I want to say it was Mike Anderson) causing a fumble. The Ravens recovered it, but I've never seen a man of that size/speed make a play like that.

peppers said he wanted to play in a scheme where he would optimize his production and his talent... being a 3-4 DE won't do that, at all, and he'd be pretty pissed off if we told him you're playing OLB for us and put him DE in trainning camp lol...

one team i'd really see go after him is the giants... if they cut plaxico they'll have some cap space to make a big deal for a big time defender... imagine tuck, umenyora and him on the same line ... ouch
