They'll be at least one player that will drop...it could be Peterson...so anything is possible...including another team trading up to nine for that player.

i completely agree. kinda makes me mad considering the other 6-10 teams ahead of us.

He might have a valid point. From what I've read and heard, the consensus seems to be that this draft is 7-8 true blue chippers deep. Unless someone unexpectedly drops, pick #9 probably isn't much different from #19 in talent, but certainly different in what you'd have to pay for it.

That is why I think we should pass on getting an OL with the 9th pick...we could trade down and probably get an OL like Staley who could be just as good as Levi Brown. Hopefully someone will drop to us like Quinn or Landry.

Plus if you've got the #9 pick and are able to trade down to #19, you should net a second-round plus another late-round pick.

Peter King is an idiot then b/c the talent is there whether it's Jamaal Anderson, Alan Branch, Amobi Okoye, Leon Hall, Patrick Willis, Levi Brown, Ted Ginn,Adam Carriker etc.. all are great players. Any of these players would greatly contribute for us

This is right. One player usually drops. And if that player is Peterson, plenty of teams will want to trade up (Dallas, Pittsburgh, possibly GB).

There is no telling who will be available and what teams will want to do for a player they covet.

Technically speaking, it wasn't Peter King, it was one of his sources that said that. Still, I don't even think that someone really needs to fall in order for us to get him. Someone in picks 5-8 will pick based on need instead of just what's available, and then we'll have a "true blue chipper" (whatever that means) available.

Peter King didn't say it. He just passed on what another NFL scout said and clearly this scout didn't think much of the players after the ninth pick.

stupidest reason to do so. for a 5 mill guaranteed u rather be 19 then 9? I doubt a player of ginns calibur is at 19, or even levi brown, or even patrick willis or branch for that matter. so thanks. you etiher get a Ngata and a Cutler or u get a Allen n try to hope u dont deal with the same issues.

Exactly! Calvin Johnson is the best value for this draft...but after him who knows who is gonna work out for each team? Look at guys like Andre Wadsworth a #3 pick in '98 and Charles Rogers from MSU a few years back. Salary cap is a huge consideration as well as what is given in guaranteed money.
