Peter King MMQB: Dan Campbell- “We’re about to wake the sleeping giant.”

I've fallen for the flashy words and the hype way too many times with this team, not going to get me this time. I remain disgruntled until this team shows me otherwise.

Potential #Dolphins lineup changes under interim coach Dan Campbell dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2015/10/12/pot…@AbramsonPBP

Crossing my fingers on this. Please... No more Dallas Thomas. Move Jamil to left, and put Brice back at the nickel spot, where he made his money in Pittsburgh.

#Dolphins changed up locker room so all offense is together and defense together. Campbell wants "offensive vs defensive" mentality

I said the other day in a thread I wasn't getting my hopes up again until they had one about ten in a row. I seem to be wavering again, still find myself hoping.

Well this last week would have been a good time to bring some players in for tryouts and dont think were any so looks like were staying with what we have.

Exactly! I know that during the bye players are off, but I'm sure that wouldn't affect the team looking at Free Agents. So, if no one was brought in, it could only be for one of four reasons:

1. Campbell has decided to go with the roster he has.
2. Hickey refused to try out any players.
3. Tannenbaum refused to let Hickey try out any players.
4. There is absolutely no player available who is better than anyone starting for Miami.

If the answer is 1, 2, or 3, then that person is a complete idiot and will cause this team to fail. The answer can not be 4, because that's impossible! I can see Tannenbaum wanting a poor season so he can fire everyone and bring in some of his friends as HC and GM.

"He has a different personality for sure. A lot of the guys like that. It. Brings a new energy," Zach Vigil said.

Love his confidence but do t see how he could have that much of it with the players we have on the roster. We'll see!

Coach Campbell can say all the right things to his team, but ultimately it is up to the players to buy in and start playing better. Being out scored 37-3 early is flat out embarrassing. We seem to always have been a team that scores early but then fades away in the 4th quarter, especially in cold weather games and games at the end of the season. Maybe the Phins need to get to the stadium earlier? :rolleyes2: I just hope Campbell has them better prepared. I will believe it when I see it.

I like the guy. But my first impression was that he is a rah rah guy. I can see why the players like him ... because he sounds like he still plays special teams.

My question is this, is he a Barry Switzer rah rah guy or is he a young Bill Cower? I'm guessing he is the former, but hoping I'm wrong.

At the end of the day we have enough talent. It's the motivation, direction and preparation that is lacking. I believe Campbell will up the motivation. His success or failure will hinge on whether he can get the players to take direction and devote more time and effort into preparation.

Odds are stacked against him lasting past this year. An offseason full coaching staff wipe looks most likely. Here is raising a drink to Campbell and hopefully witnessing and improbable rise against the odds.

I'm not expecting any miraculous turnaround. Or any historic comeback. I'm just hoping that under Dan, we see some fight and some good football. On both offense and defense. It doesn't have to translate to wins always, but I long to see some competitive Dolphins football the rest of the year.

I'm going with the general sentiment in these responses. I'm rooting for Coach Campbell, but yeah, not really getting up too much for this team. They might win a couple and make it seem like things are trending in the right direction, but until I see a complete game against a top tier team (Pats) I'm not buying.

This dude makes me want to strap on a helmet and play..I'm pulling for this cat.

LOL! Right, he wants to run the organization into the ground, so he can bring in his cronies next year....great plan!
