Peter King on Chad Henne

Henne has room to grow, but people who actually watch the games instead of just looking at the box score on NFL.com realizd that Henne is a special talent. He does make "rookie" mistakes, but he has the arm and composure of potential star.

Henne is the real deal and someone that the front office can build around. Bess, Hartline and even Camarillo are nice receivers, but Henne is the type of QB that needs to have a big team receiver. That is why targeting someone like Austin in free agency or Andre Johnson/Boldin in a trade is something this front office needs to do.

Get him a freaking #1 reciever and lets see if has what it takes.

Agreed, especially with the WR situation. The more I watch Bess, Cam, Hartline and even Fasano the more I realize that they are nice players and not garbage like many people here post. We just need a guy that is better than all 4 WR's and we will be all set. We could also use a TE who is a better passing threat than Fasano as well. You know, for the last three weeks our offense/passing game has been moving the ball up and down the field they are just making crucial mistakes which are preventing the end results from being as positive as they could be.

his 3 interceptions were physical mistakes

he makes beautiful throws and he misses the mark on others

hopefully Lee is the guy to help him improve his accuracy and consistency

Henne is the man. He'll learn from yesterday, no doubt about it. It sucks, but it's just a part of the growing process.

Agreed. I remember Marino had games like yesterday. Then the next week, he would come out on fire. I believe Henne will do the same.

I agree that the 3 INT's were physical mistakes. And, as I've said, those are going to happen when all your completions come against tight coverage. If Manning or Brees miss, they're not usually INT's, because their WR's give them enough space to make "safe" throws. If Henne misses, he doesn't have as much room, so more of those misses will result in TO's. Henne has room to grow, but he's in a pretty impossible situation - especially with the running game starting to struggle.

the NFL is so amazing and intriguing

Brees sucks for a few years, gets Gates and has a breakout year. so this has me thinking its all about your receivers(which it kinda is). but you see how accurate and accomplished Brees is now and you wonder how he could have ever been that bad.

hopefully we will wonder the same about Henne

You should know that I'm a special talent when Dan Marino says that I am a franchise QB.

I'm a rookie, Peyton Manning was 10X worse in his rookie year than I am right now. I'm 7-4 as a starter. Case in point, I help this team win ballgames the majority of the team, regardless of what the stats look like at the end. What else can you want from me?

Marino had a lot of games like that, especially in the playoffs.. That's why his overall playoff numbers are mediocre.

On youtube there is a playoff game against the Bills in the snow.. Marino throws two INT's right into the chest of a defender.

he did that quite a bit in important games.. against the pats in 86 (AFC Championship) he had INT's thrown right into the chest of the defender.. Threw very bad balls in the SB.. In the 1993 AFc Championship he threw a lot of bad balls.

And had some horrid INT's when others were open in important games.

But nobody here seems to want to mention it.

Look at this terrible pass late in a game when Jensen was WIDE open... Buffalo got the ball back at the end and won the game.. This was the season opener in 89, and it was heartbreaking loss as Buffalo was the best team in the division at the time

People who are making silly comments regarding Henne's pass yesterday, a first year QB playing on the road, are just silly - and have a short memory.

It happens to the best of em.

Henne is special; Dan Henning is not; His play calling is killing us down the strect; that bs penalty on Camarillo was the nail in the coffin b/c 15 more yards anf Bironas isn't even close..

Ted Ginn Jr. HAS to go

additions by subtraction:

- Gibril Wilson
- Ted Ginn
- Dan Henning

my guess is that Henning would have to retire, he won't be fired
