Talking to Dan Patrick on the Miami news:

Says he doesn't think that the Dolphin job is a great one

He thinks Huizenga will sell the team in 3-4 years

He says that it may be a co-coached team(Cam and Capers)

He also said that he is 100% sure that Saban would not have left if Brees had been his QB.

Honestly I didbn't think King was that down on Miami. Hmmmm.

King is an opinionated hard headed arrogant SOB, but he has the right to be I guess. Sometimes I don't agree with his opinions and he has very obvious biases (Phil/Chris Simms, Patriots, and recently Saints and Reggie Bush).

HIs arrogance comes through in his writings but I still enjoy it. I don't read his columns for objectivity. Anyways, I think he has some justification, although he doesn't take into account Huizenga's hands off but spend money approach.

Did he give any reasons why?

With the state this team ended the year, he's got every right to have a negative oinion of us. Hell, read half the posts on this site. We're all fans, and we also have a lot of negative opinions of our team. It's pretty irrellivant now, we have an acutal offensive mind on the roster and a chance to move forward. By this time next year, King's opinion of this club will be changed for the better.

hindsight is always 20/20. most of these knuckleheads saying miami made a mistake taking culpepper over brees are the same guys that picked miami to win the east.

people are missing the silver lining with all of this: if brees were here, that sniveling fraud would be here too

Miami isn't that good of a job. Your in a division with esentially Vince Lombardi in Belichick. The talent on the team sucks. the salary cap situation isn't good. You got a clown like Ricky Williams constantly hanging over your head becuase for some dumb reason we just won't get rid of him. The job is awful.

When the ARIZONA CARDINALS job is better than the Dolphins job, you know things have sunk to an all time low!

King does not think straight, too much fat betwen his ears, clouds his thinking. Throw him a box of cookies and he will say anything you want him to.

isn't this the same guy who picked us to win it all this year? He has some good points, but honestly, what does he really know?

King is the guy who was stating Brees was going to be a Dolphin over and over and over again. But then Saban took Culpepper.

God man, you have to be one of the most negative people I've ever seen.

How depressing and dark did the situation look at New Orleans just one year ago?

Everything can change very quickly, as has been proven over and over again.

So why be so freaking negative?:tantrum:

He may be negative but he is telling the truth. The team is not in good shape, lets look at the facts:

1. Your franchise QB is broke and may not be able to play at a high level that he did in Minny.

2. Your Oline has gotten slightly better with a genius in H. Hudson as Line coach. And I mean Slightly.

3. You have no backup plan at QB if your franchise QB can not come back next year.

4. Your D line is old, older then dirt. And your defense although the staple of your team, is aging very quickly.

5. Your secondary is pathetic.

All and all, you look at the Cards, they have a franchise YOUNG QB in Leinart, and two studs at WR and a RB that will be around for at least three years. Fix that Oline, and you have a top notch offense.

That being said, you are correct by saying that 1 year can fix alot of things.

I hope they fix the first piece by drafting Quinn if he is there at 9. :dolphins:

I wonder how positive King was toward the Saints before this season started?...A lot can change in a short period of time.

I do agree that the Arizona job may have more appeal. The team has a good group of young offensive weapons. They have a nice, new facility. I would not be surprised if Whisenhunt can make it happen out there. This does not mean Miami is a team without talent, even offensively. In today's NFL, Team A can beat Team B anyday and twice on Sunday.

Miami's job is more of a challenge. This is the winningest franchise in NFL history. In 26 seasons under Shula, Miami only had 2 losing seasons! Since then, Miami has equaled that number of losing seasons in much less time. In other words, Arizona is used to losing. Even if Whisenhunt loses his first 2 years, as long as there is progress, the fans will be happy. Miami fans want nothing less than an AFC Championship appearance. IMO, this is a HUGE challenge for any coach. Hell, Saban could even make the playoffs! Most of us here thought that he would get Miami to the promised land. Things did not turn out quite like that, obviously.

I am going to give this Cam thing a little time; two years. I hope he can turn this team around offensively. I am only speculating, but I believe Mularkey is gone from what I read in the transcript of his PC. Cam mentioned changes a couple of times.

Mikeo how about you go hop on the CARDINALS bandwagon so then aat the end of next season we can laugh at you when the dolphins are in the playoffs and arizona has at tops a 5 game win season.

He also said that he is 100% sure that Saban would not have left if Brees had been his QB.
That makes no sense at all when you consider Saban turned him down, not the other way around, so how could King possibly know that?
