Peter Kings picks Dolphins to finish Last in the AFC East

ALOT of "experts" picked GB and Pit in the SB last year. King going out on yet another limb.

FAIL (at least on the Steelers half)

Packers-Ravens was the hot pick last year. The consensus was that the Roethlisberger suspension was going to derail Pittsburgh's season. I've been looking around and cannot find even 1 person that picked the Steelers to even be in the Super Bowl last year. (I think I remember Matt Williamson picking them, but he's from Pittsburgh and admits his bias. Williamson and Bucky Brooks from NFL.com were the only 2 that even picked Pittsburgh to win the AFC North).

Also, I don't know how you can call King a Dolphin hater when he had this to say in his preview last year:

6. Miami. I probably like the young quarterback more than most do; I think Chad Henne is set for a breakout year, and I think the receiver group (Brandon Marshall, Brian Hartline, Davone Bess) will be good enough to give Miami enough at that position for the first time in years. Even though the Dolphins didn't get a fourth receiver like the one they wanted (Demaryius Thomas) on draft day, they'll be good enough there to contend.
The most important rookie in the league to a playoff contender, other than Ryan Mathews of the Chargers, could well be Koa Misi, the second-rounder projected to rush the passer for Miami. But as Bill Parcells has said since he came out of the womb, "They don't sell insurance for that kind of thing.'' They don't, and Misi needs to have immediate impact to bolster the one area of the Dolphins that they need the most help -- pass-rush.

He had you as the 6th best team in the league last year. What a hater. He never says anything positive about the Dolphins. I found this particularly funny because Jets fans always accuse him of being a Pats homer, but he picked the Pats to finish 3rd last year. Peter King takes a lot of flak, but I like him.

He has you in 4th because he thinks the Bills can win 7 games. How many of you would be shocked if the Dolphins went 6-10? Is that so unreasonable?

PK is a Parcells groupie & probably doesn't have an opinion unless Bill tells him what it is. So, is his prognistication really a surprise?

FWIW; Sporting News has the patsies winning winning and Miami winning only 5.

I was not impressed w/ NE's OL (w/ Mankins) or pass D against Detroit.

I don't know why you guys are outraged when you consider the horrible way we finished the year last year, followed by a ridiculous circus sideshow about who our coach and GM were going to be. Pre-season has not provided reason for a lot of optimism. If Henne improves we should surpass Buffalo, but even then it's a stretch to think we could get up to second place in the division. If Henne doesn't improve, Buffalo fans will see their way out of the cellar.

Until Henne plays well in the regular season, everyone is going to have us finishing with a bad record. Unless Henne and our D come out of the gate like gangbusters, we're going to lose 3 of our first 4 games, and if that happens, you know this team is waiting to quit on this coaching staff.

we have to go 2-2 in the opening stretch, anything less is an epic fail.. if we beat the pats, we will believe and thats all this team needs now

peter kings predictions last year were horrendous outside of the steelers getting to the SB. that fool is about as credible as lebron's 4th quarter clutch gene....

Turnover on downs against the Panthers. A turnover is a turnover. It gave the Panthers a short field to work with.

CK, I appreciate your work on Finheaven. You and Slimm, Jr are this site's best analysts and talent evaluators, in my opinion. But to lump a turnover on downs with an interception or fumble is a bit egregious. Circumstances, probablility of success, and assumed risk are all part of the decision making of a play that may become a turnover on downs. In the preseason, as a time for experimentation, it is not very useful in evaluating efficacy (unless the circumstance was 4th and one. I don't remember the play.) Interceptions and fumbles are unanticipated occurances usually due to lack of awareness and poor technique. Turnovers on downs are never statistically creditted as a turnover. Turnover has such a negative connotation, and rightfully so. This qualification of failed 4th down attempt seems to be "piling on".
