Peter King's take on his Fins visit

i think he's right that the defense could be top 10 if everyone stays healthy and that the offense may take time to get the new Lazor game plan down pat.
Also agree with his comments about Cam Wake.

I mostly agree with what he said. I think we have a better shot at taking down the pats than he gives us credit for, but overall he seemed spot on. Whining about no a/c though? I hope we don't die somewhere on the roads of America? Boo ****in hoo. Lol.

Did he steal a ball from a little kid and gloat about it again?

Usually I discard his opinion knowing his New England bias but this time i think he's right on. Second best talent in the division with a playoff chance if the offense comes around.

I was pretty surprised by Peter King's frank admission that yesterday was the first time that he had met and spoken to GM Dennis Hickey. Considering that Hickey had 18 years experience in the Tampa Bay organization with a broad variety of roles evaluating talent (college and NFL) all the way up to being their #2 guy, that is pretty amazing.
So when some other media figures like Jason LaCanfora and Mike Florio denegrate Stephen Ross' GM appointment of Hickey, maybe they were in a similar position in not knowing much about Dennis.
BTW - I am increasingly comfortable with the Hickey appointment and he appears to be working well with the Head Coach. Most questionable decision to date has been the signing of Knowshon Moreno and that is more injury related and we still wait to see what we've got.

That's pretty much what I've been thinking as well as far as his acquisitions. Loved the Finnegan/Delmas pick-ups (and he mentioned those guys in particular during the interview), so-so on the Moreno and Smith pick-ups, like the Albert pick-up and feel we had a nice draft. Could've been different/better/worse, but I think it was solid considering needs.

Decent interview... Always good to hear an outside perspective. Surprised to hear him talk so highly of the secondary... A lot of the media wasn't so high on the Finnegan signing in the beginning, or Delmas really for that matter.

High probability we start out slow on offense with new OL, new offense. The defense will have to play exceptional first half of season to keep us in games. Have to be patient yet again with the offense.

Pretty good take....I don't think New England is untouchable or a lock as he seems to think, but they are obviously the favorite.

It sucks we lost IMO 2 key players for that opener.

There's no such thing as a lock, but they're pretty close to it. Anything could happen...it's a LONG season. Him saying the Dolphins would have the best chance out of the "other 3" is good to hear. He's not 100% right all the time, but he's pretty good and respectable.

You have a good point, and if no one really knew him then it's easy to criticize. I don't know, there may have been better candidates out there but given our circumstance, and what Ross wants, there was really no better candidate than Hickey to fit with Philbin and this organization. I didn't want Farmer, and a few of the others I liked didn't want the job as it was structured. He's done a good job with the draft so far, imo. With FA, looks like Moreno may turn out to be a bad hire. Finnegan may or may not blow up in his face. Colledge was a great addition.
