I know that probably everyone gets tired of these threads. (Me included) Of course that did not stop me from posting this. If Julian Peterson is going to be released would you want the Fins to at least "kick the tires" I would much rather him than JT, if we could get him cheap. Here is the link:

lol, you beat me to it and yeah these types of threads are annoying. But this one makes sense to me however, I would give Peterson no more than a 2 yr contract and still draft a young OLB.

I don't see the Dolphins signing any more players, peterson might be too high for their budget, I am wondering when are we going to address the DT position, Ferguson is so no spring chicken and Solia (sp?) is very inconsistent, we need to spend some money on a young stud to strengthen our line for a long time.

I wouldn't mind him either.. Peterson still produces and we could draft a young OLB, like Larry English, to grow under the mentoring of Peterson and Porter..

Peterson is 30 years old and has shown an ability to sack the quarterback. We shouldn't go nuts based on that, because he isn't as good as he used to be, but he has some years left. And there was some Joey Porter guy whose decline has worked out pretty well for us so far.

The FO should definitely kick the tires and see if Julian wants to win football games. If the answer's yes, bring him in. If he wants the biggest contract possible, let him go somewhere else.

Could you imagine Porter AND Peterson??

He would make a nice signing and one his best years was in a 3-4 defense as an OLB.

I would love to have Julian Peterson on this defense. He is a dependable guy with a huge motor who gets after the QB. The price may be too high so we may not show interest. His age doesn't really bug me but the team is looking for younger guys IMO.

He played one hell of a football game against us last year. He was all over the place.

If you are looking for a veteran to really improve the D I would go after him in a heartbeat.

Stupid trade for the Lions. Just costs them more in cap room for a marginally better player who isn't going to help them contend anyway.

I think it's great for the Lions, high salary but gives them a solid player to rebuild around.

Julian Peterson isn't a "solid" player anymore. He's a decent linebacker who's name basis gets him voted into pro-bowls. Redding is a decent DT himself. Trading for Peterson is hardly worth the 7 million dollar cap hit (opposed to 5) had they kept Redding. Not for a team going nowhere, Peterson isn't going to change that.
