:woot: He's without question my #1 off season priority. He's an incredible player.

Is he really worth more than 8 mill a year tho? I'm just asking cos I haven't seen him play that much...I know he's a good player but is he a Ray Lewis or even a Zack kind of good to merit Nick giving him that much?

I think he would accept a bit less money to play for Saban who is his old college coach

just my opinion but I don't want him. he is a very good player but I think he'll demand more money than he is worth.

if we got him and improved our secoundary than our D would be one of the top in the NFL, just picture Peterson, Thomas, and Crowder at LB. that would have to be the best LB core in the NFL and Peterson is a great pass rusher so with him and our d-line we would have a great pass rush

I know he's a good player but I'm not sure that Nick's gonna break the bank just for him.He was in cap hell and now we're doing good so I hope we don't go crazy again.

if we were to add him we would have no question the best group of linebackers in the league

then just add 1 player to the secondary and we have probally a top 5 defense

i think peterson is looking for a big pay-day.. and i don't think that's what the phins are looking to do.. i really feel that Saban is like BB in that he doesn't dish out top dollar to free agents.

While peterson is a great player, i just don't see us going after him, if he wants big money.... besides, LB is not one of our top priorites.... we need corner, safety... PEOPLE WHO CAN COVER... a Qb, another play maker on offense, and 1 or 2 more offensive linemen...

which brings me to my second point, Houck has been able to form very good lines without top free agent linemen... Steve Hutchinson is going to look for big money, and i just don't like the idea of dishing out top money for offensive linemen, when houck can make things worth without the big $$ guys.

why do we need a corner?

Madison, Daniels, and Will Poole will be back next year thats more than enough

I agree with saftey

we dont need 1 or 2 more offensive lineman, we need 1, and maybe depending who is available we go after a WR

we will be about 15 mill under the cap

we can afford a big signing

If we got Peterson it would be a big step towards the 3-4 D and KC could move to DT giving us a very nice rotation. If we draft a DT in the draft, which I'm sure we will we could be set on the D line for years. All we need to do is add a Corner and LB, the entire D can compete. We have depth players starting right now add a few stars and look out.

Well that would take care of the D. QB,LT,C and the O could score 20 a game thats all a team needs with a stout D. We don't need to be dominant on either side of the ball, we just need both sides to compliment each other.

The $8MM figure is based on the francise tag. He is likely looking for something in the low $6MM annual range, comparable to Jason Taylor (still quite alot for a player coming off a serious achilles injury).

I do think he is a strong possibility. I think his ability in coverage and rush, his intelligence and his experiance with Coach Saban make him a good fit.

One thing we're missing on this defense is big plays. You look at the Patriots defense during the championship years and that's what they had going for them, big plays...sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles...big impact plays all over the place.

That's what Julian Peterson is all about. One thing is for certain, when Junior Seau leaves we've got just Donnie Spragan at strong side and though I like Spragan, he's not a huge impact player. Peterson played the exact same spot for Saban at Michigan State. He should know the spot pretty well, and he excelled in it before so he should do so again. Having him around would finally give us an equivalent to Mike Vrabel on the Pats defense. From there it'd be awfully nice to get us a Rodney Harrison and a Richard Seymour.

The thing that scares me about Julian is that I've read that speculation over his departure from San Francisco has to do with his asking price being way more than they want to pay. That scares me a bit. He'd have to come down a bit to play for Miami...and I see the market for him being big enough that he may just choose not to go play for Saban again.

peterson is 10x better than Mike Vrabel

comparing them is an isult to Peterson

JT is a better lineman than seymore that is also an insult imo
