PETERSON WORKED OUT AFTER BROTHER'S DEATH
The numbers posted by Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson become even more impressive in light of the fact that he learned on Sunday morning that his brother was shot and killed in Texas.
Per Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Peterson got the news in the early hours of Sunday, but still participated in the workout without missing a beat.
Though Glazer gushes about the fact that Peterson was still able to put together a 4.38 in the 40 and other noteworthy numbers, we're not ready to compare the performance to Emmitt Smith in the final regular season game of 1993 against the Giants, when Smith ignored a painful shoulder injury to carry the team to the NFC East title with an overtime win in the Meadowlands.
It's one thing to show up for your team; it's another thing to show up for yourself. In Peterson's case, the workout benefits only one person, and although on one hand it shows that he has the ability to ignore distractions and perform, it makes us wonder whether the kid has his priorities in line.
Then again, given that he already is showing a propensity to pick football over family, maybe it makes him even more desirable to an NFL team.

That sucks for adrian prayers out to his family :(

The opinion in that article sucks.....He will be able to help his family for generations to come if he does well at the combine.

Yeah what was he supposed to do fly to the scene of the crime? There is nothing he could have done, they wont bury him for a few days or anything like that. The kid did a workout where all he has to do is workout and then get on a plane to be with his family. Nothing wrong with that.

On another note it's sad to see these guys familiy members going down so often lately. First LT's dad, then Damien Nash, now Petersons brother. R.I.P

not only that. i would guarantee you his brother would want him to go on and do it.

That article is a disgrace and the author should be ashamed of himself. That comparison to Emmitt Smith is ridiculous and totally unrelated to Peterson's situation. I'm sure that this guy would have been the first to criticize if AP would have skipped the combine...his article would have been just as ridiculous in the other direction. This is the problem with so much coverage during the offseason...there isn't enough write about so half-a$$ed "journalists" like this guy just try to stir something up.

Who the frig gives that journalist the right to comment on that guys state of mind??? Peterson may be doing it for his brother, his family or himself or he may not even have been close to his brother. Whatever the circumstances the journalist should keep his opinions to himself when a tragic family incident has occured. Its the players decision and we are all different. Dumb comment by a dumb reporter imo.

Who the hell wrote this? Link? This deserves more publicity to expose this writer.

Adrian Peterson has been through a lot, besides the injury the past year...his dad was in prison a good deal of AP's life and now AP has to deal with the death of his brother.
