Peyton Manning + Brandon Weeden in Round 2 = dream scenario

This is about the only scenario in which age becomes a concern for me regarding Weeden. If you draft Weeden, you should be convinced he can start immediately.

Which begs the question do you want to risk a 2nd round pick to find this out. Its alot to be expected of a rookie to start from day one and be good and most qb's are not ready out of the gate. If Weeden isnt which the odds actually point to then do you really want to try to develop a guy that already 29. he will also probably start regressing at the same age point most qb' do, there is no evidence that starting older makes a qb be able to play to an older age.

You could be correct but there is no trend of history that shows because a college player is older that he is Kellen more ready to play qb in the nfl. Many said this about john beck. The facts of the matter are that he has the same amount of experience playing college football as any other prospect in the draft and is no more or less ready to play in the NFL than Nick Foles or Kirk cousins based on his experience so far. I think it sounds good to say because he is older he is more ready but we all saw that didnt help another older prospect in Chris Weinke and he was every bit as good a prospect as Weeden if not better.

The only problem you have with your Chris Weinke, John Beck, or any other quarterback that you can think of that came into the league at an older age, is none of those guys could throw the ball like Weeden can.

Why another QB? We have Moore under contract and he is better bet than most anything out there. If Manning is ours I draft DEcastro round one, best T in round two. Be done with it! TE round 3.

Sounds like a great plan. Sign a QB that MIGHT still be good for 2 years, and then replace him with another 30+ year old QB. Thats the way to build a franchise!!

I like Weeden and think we should go after him if we can't get Manning or Flynn but no way do you draft him if we get one of the other 2. I think Tannehill is the best choice to sit behind Manning. If we get Flynn, I don't think we should draft a QB this year. If Flynn doesn't pan out, there are much better QBs in next years draft.

I think you have a short memory on Weinke. Weinke could put the ball anywhere. I challenge anyone to go back and look at tape of Weinke at Florida St and tell me Weeden looks better

Personally, I think we should give Chad Henne another chance. He may be able to flourish under Philbin. Don't want to give up on him so soon.

Are you serious or making a joke? I can't tell...

i fail to see how a 36 year old qb who will be 38-39 before he's done provided he's healthy who won't get beat out by anyone we bring in in the the next few years at least and a guy in weeden who a few years from now will be what 32 is a dream scenario...nothing dreamy about sitting on a 29 year old rookie qb for 2 more years while peyton plays out his career...

you take brandon weeden given that age he better at minimum be competing for the starting gig asap...otherwise whats the damn point

There is no point to traking Weeden before round 3, just stupidity, Way too much risk

I agree that Tannehill is a better fit with Manning. One thing about Weeden, he has lived the life of a professional athlete which should serve him well in his NFL career.

Chris weinke and Drew Henson also had lived life of professional athlete and didnt seem to make them stud qbs

I like Weeden but given the scenario of developing a QB behind Manning, I would rather have Keenum in round 3/4 or maybe even 5. Not too much risk and has a lot of skills although I think he is a little small but, so is Brees.
