Peyton Manning + Brandon Weeden in Round 2 = dream scenario

I think so many are used to wasting second round picks on Qb's they dont mind taking a guy like Weeden with our second. Im definately not one of them this would be akin to the White pick in my book

It's an interesting point, but look at it this way- which analysts don't hink that Weeden is a 1st rd talent stuck in a 28 yr old body? I go by my eyes, but you mentioned RGIII rated higher, etc. Personall, I would take Weeden over RGIII as they are now- if they were the same age it's a no brainer, but that's just me.

Weeden to me is a great solution- a 1st rd talent that we have a good shot at getting in the 2nd rd. I'm not going to let previous 2nd rd attempts at QBs disuade me- I don't even think that you can count the Feeley/Culpepper trades- they weren't 2nd rd pick, they cost 2nd rd picks. We'd be lucky to get Weeden in the 2nd rd and have him run the show for us until 2019-2020. If we pass on him in the 2nd rd- assuming he lasts that long- I can see Rex Ryan pouncing on him for the Jets. Loudmouth that he may be, when he sees a problwem he tries to fix it quickly- Weeden would be a great option for the Jets with Sanchez looking more and more like their version of Chad Henne.

Most said they liked RG3 better as a prospect than Barkley and even if Weeden was 23 I dont see him as better than Barkley. Hey everyone has an opinion but drafting Tanneyhill would be a much smarter option but who says we draft smart esp at qb.

Please tell me how Weeden is so much a better prospect than Weinke was. I mean really did you ever actually watch Weinke play in college and did you read the scouting reports on Weinke. Both very similar rated guys by scouts. I think time has made people forget how good a prospect Weinke was, hell some people that have talked about him said he had a weak arm and coming out of college not true by any means. Weeden is more mobile but that doesnt make him a better prospect.

Weeden has a HOSE that weinke never had

I guess you dont comprehend I never said Weeden equaled Pat White I said picking Weeden in the second round would be a mistake similar to drafting Pat White in the second round. Those are not the same thing. You dont draft a 29 year old player in the damn second round, Weeden will need as much time to adapt to the NFL game as ,most similar ranked prospects, hell higher ranked prospects have struggled so not so sure why people on this board are so convinced that he could come in from day one and be a good qb. If Chris Weinke failed to do it then its very damn possible that Brandon Weeden could do it.
Weeden and Weinke are two completely different people. Weeden is much more accurate, has a much quicker release and comprehends schemes a lot better then Weinke could. The only similarity between the two is their age.

You can't base the success or failure of a prospect on the failure of a different prospect.

Those opinions of Weinke are of course your opinions I dont agree and Im sure there are many actual scouts that would not agree. I never said they were the same I said similarly rated. If Weinke was the right age he would have been drafted 1st round and I assume Weeden would be a mid to late first round pick also. I can base that teams find it quite unwise to spend high draft picks on 29 year old rookies
