Peyton Manning throwing like a "late career Chad Pennington"

1. we have two vets on our roster (henne and moore) who cost next to nothing.

2. we have plenty of cap space, especially if we do something with Soliai, Langford, Long, Bell, Dansby, Marshall, Fasano ect ect as far as restructures, extentions and cuts.

3. We have a high draft pick and if we trade down we could have 3-4 starting calliber players from the draft in addition to one or two free agents with the extra cap space.

4. we have a coach who can groom and run an offense.

I would only be on board for a manning or flynn if the risk vs reward is in our favor. I don't want to take away tons of cap and risk acquiring a lot of quality talent if were not going to get much better QB play than from whats already on the roster. I don't see why philbin wouldn't be able to get some better-than-good play out of henne, moore or some late round talent like osweiler, cousins, foles, or keenum

Seriously. Joe philbin is not going to hang his hat on Matt Moore and chad henne. GTFO with that nonsense. The owner has said pull the trigger and get a qb. The gm has said we need a qb. Brandon Marshall is in full on qb recruiting mode. Our elite WR knows we have no elite QBs on our roster. If you think joe philbin is gonna keep these guys you're not thinking common sense. I see probably Matt Flynn here with a lackluster Jeff Ireland qb pick like tannehill. I still, despite everything, just don't think Jeff Ireland has it in him to really reach out for the best qb available. When he should. If he does and it's a bust, he's out the door. If he doesn't and we lose, he's out the door.

polien was on serius radio this afternoon and said this article was erronius. he said that he spoke to manning 10 days ago and he could make the throws, left and right and accross his body but his velocity was still keeping those throws around 25 yards. as he strengthens, he expects that to not be an issue. he said he has benchmarks he's trying to reach and getting better every day, and unless this is an old report, or manning suffered some sort of setback in the last 10 days, it's false.

Miami went 10-6 with the Wildcat against a last placed schedule with no Tom Brady. Miami was 0-3 with Pennington until they unwrapped the Wildcat. You saw what happened against Baltimore, not just in the playoffs, but also in the other game against Baltimore where he was throwing pick 6's to Terrell Suggs.

The most TD's Pennington ever threw in his career in a single season was 22. He only threw 19 during his "awesome" season with Miami in '08.

Matt Moore threw 16 TD's in 12 starts. Matt Moore can easily approach the same level as Chad Pennington.

I actually think Matt Moore could be the best quarterback Miami has had since Marino, which isn't saying much... but it's a start. He's not held back by limited physical tools like Jay Fiedler or Chad Pennington, or held back by his lack of mental aptitude and feel for the game like Chad Henne.

You're always looking to improve on your QB position until you KNOW you have a very good-elite player at the position, as opposed to HOPING you do.

I still think Peyton Manning is D-O-N-E. Even if he isn't, he's not going to be the same. Even if he is the same, he's not coming to Miami. If I'm wrong on all 3... well... it just ain't possible.

+1

What are you smoking? Besides it was 11-5. And you were on the Chad Henne bandwagon a couple years ago.

You don't have any bias do you? And Penny sucks. Wish he would go back to NY where he spent most of his career and torment that fanbase with his not so good enough to get over the hump self.

Chad Pennington was a beast you guys are ridiculous. 7 int's, 3600 or so yards with Ted F'ing Ginn as his #1 receiver.

In the playoff game we had 3 healthy receivers. Ginn (horrible) Bess (rookie) and Brandon Freaking London (horrible) and considering they shut down our running game are you really surprised Chad struggled?

So much a beast that MIA had to bring out the WC. A formation that took the BALL out of HIS hands.

In Penny's last 4 games in 08-09, he went 0-4, 2tds and 6INTS. All against PO caliber teams. All the while 'beasting' through 08 against teams that were .500 or worse.

He was playing with a team that was 1-15 the year before, a bad offensive coordinator, and a bad head coach. He was 2nd in the league in MVP voting. The Dolphins receiving core was weak and if you want to count the Chargers game against him (Ronnie fumbling in the endzone and Henne throwing away the game) fine, but he also was very close to out dueling Manning and would have if Ted Ginn could catch a damn ball. The Ravens game he had no chance. No running game and 3 healthy receivers with only Bess being worth anything as a rookie mind you. The worst thing that's happened to this franchise since 2008 was Chad getting hurt against the Chargers.

You seem to be rewriting history. Against BALT, MIA was in that game in spite of Penny's INT's going into the 3rd. He then threw a INT after the break that helped put the game away. 4 ****ING INTS...not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 INTS. He then started the next season where he left off...throwing INTS against teams that were PO teams.

The WC was born because of the lackluster offense that he was the leader of. A formation that took the ball from Penny. A offense that was ranked 23rd. It is what it is. Unlike you, I seen that season for what it was...smoke and mirrors. And it set MIA back a year or two. Now you can go back to reminiscing about 08 and where it left this franchise. A WHOLE ****ING NEW COACHING STAFF.

Pennington was the QB of the offense that turned the ball over the fewest times in NFL HISTORY. How does your "smoke and mirrors" theory play into that? Fewest turnovers in the history of the league was more significant than the wildcat......just sayin

Obvious you're immature at best and have not even played football.

The 23rd ranked offense? Penny started the season 0-3, and the WC was born. Again a formation that took the BALL OUT OF HIS HANDS.

The Defense that year was top 15, if anything they deserve more credit than being given to them.

Ah here we go. I must not have ever played football or seen footballz or even gone to a game huh? Because I as a long time Dolphin fan would bristle at the thought of CP being mentioned in the same moniker with BG and DM huh? Now that is ignorance. A long time NYJ who started a total of 21 games should be held in such high regard to be named in the same abv. as DM and BG?

What is ignorance is thinking 08 did anything for this franchise. And the noodle arm that help put the blinders on this FO and some in the fanbase.

MIA def against BALT is what kept MIA in that game going into half time in spite of Penny's INTs. Only going into the 2nd half and Penny's 3rd INT did the Ravens put away MIA. NOw you like to put 'if' this and that, well thanks to history, he didn't and they didn't. He went 0-4 in his last 4 starts, throwing 6 INTS in those loses.

And the worst thing MIA did as a franchise was think a guy who only completed 1 full 16 game season until 08,being named as the starter of this franchise.

And what is Penny's excuse against BALT game 1? I unlike you see Penny for what he is, not what you want him to be. He limits his teams due to his weaknesses. Something NY learned, and something most in the MIA fanbase came to learn. Too bad you didn't.
