MAkes sense he would ask anywhere from 80 M to 100M for 4 years. I think the sources you are hearing are coming from Denver who have made that offer to him already and now thats the baseline. Denver will outbid everyone for Manning. They will go as high as 100M and only Manning will decide if he will take less and go to another team.

You forget the salary cap. You want to pay Manning 90m? How are you going to fit that into our cap space? You'd need to get rid of a bunch of people. Try and win a SB then. Without a #1 WR. With a QB who is a question mark. With the rest of our problems plus the ones we'd create.
