Looks like some of our players need to step up
Which makes me wonder... if this team is 3-1 and it's clear several players can and should improve on their performance from the 1st quarter of the season, how good can this team become if more players just step up a little. We're not asking for a big leap, just a little improvement here and there and this team should be in contention in January.

I think we need Austin Jackson back

I think Van Ginkel needs to play more

Get Tanner Connor more reps

For cripea sake Get our stud rookie wide receiver a crash course in offense and get his ass on the field

I wonder if the absence of Raekwon Davis and the insertion of Jenkins has actually helped our run defense, we’ve been real good lately, 33rd out of 130 something is damn good

Seems like Miami's run defense numbers, as far as ypc is concerned, is swayed by a handful of big runs. I'm curious how many of those big runs came with Davis on the field or up the middle when he was in.

Yeah you take away that Lamar Jackson run we’re at 3.something

I can’t comment too much about Davis or Jenkins as I’ve not isolated their play but from what I saw at camp John Jenkins had gotten into great shape for himself, and was beating people up..

I also have always been a fan of PFF and their process

And to be in the top Quarter of all d tackle is damn good

I wasn't question how many big runs were Davis' fault. I'm actually wondering if those plays happened when he wasn't in or when teams ran away from his gap.

I posted it last week about the lack of a running game. That position was upgraded. You wouldn't know it. Running game was 29th in yds per game. Just under 70yds in last 3 games. That has to improve.

Liam Eichenberg must have really upset someone at PFF. Is he really that bad? Can't say I'd noticed him much this season, which for OL is not such a bad thing.

Well, it's consistent no matter who ranks them.

LG and RT are our weakest spots offensively.

Hopefully Jackson coming back will improve that.

I still believe in Jackson, so hopefully he comes back what next week?

The defense. We all knew our lbers are weak. They are a big reason 3rd downs are an issue IMO.

I wonder if there are any moves Grier could make to upgrade these positions.

If only there was a team that had a tradable LBER or something that is not expected to compete.

Yes, I will be calling for it until the deadline is past.

I still believe, 1trade makes us true championship contenders.

Go get Smith.

Both Little and Eich need to step up their game. Geisecki needs to learn where he's supposed to be on any given play. It seems like on some of the film breakdowns he has drifted into another receiver's area allowing one defender to cover both.

Don’t worry. Austin Jackson would be 70 out of 70. Little is better than what these grades show. Grades don’t show context of all the players working as a unit on individual plays. Take them as directional and w pinch of salt

Five thoughts

1. We are Top 5 at the most important position in football. That stands out more than anything.
2. Our two most prolific defensemen (X and Ogbah) have extremely bad grades so far. Both turn 30 next year and you have to think they've lost a step (regardless of injuries). Imagine where the defense would be if they were playing to form?
3. We have two Top 7 WRs. You wonder why our running game is so poor? It's because our passing game is so pure and easy to rely on.
4. Three of our O linemen have Top 10 grades which is extremely encouraging. But the other two have the absolute worst, although you wouldn't necessarily know it from the eye test.
5. Edge rusher seems to be the position most easily improved from here on out.
