PFF ranks Dolphins secondary 31 out of 32

Well, hard to argue. We're gonna have a rough time most likely

but really? The pats at 4? There's a lot of teams in the teens/20s that I would move up in the rankings

More unknowns for Miami. Will Maxwell rebound? Can Howard, Lippett, or someone else perform at least average? If so the ranking is BS.

Misleading title . . . Article only references the Cb group, not the entire secondary.

Surprised there is a worse rated team to start the season.

The Giants at 9, who gave up the most passing yards in the league in 2015 sit one spot above Seattle (at 10), who gave up the fewest passing yards in the league.

Why because of adding Jenkins and Apple?

List seems legit.

probably the least talented position group in the building

blah

and then Brent....

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Top CBs: Brent Grimes, Vernon Hargreaves III, Alterraun Verner

Key stat: Grimes has surrendered 13 touchdowns since 2014 (six last season).

From 2007 to 2013, Brent Grimes surrendered only 14 touchdown passes; in the last two seasons alone, he has nearly matched that. Grimes surrendered a passer rating of 103.8 last season, his first time over 100.0 since 2008. He highlights a trio of corners looking to re-discover better form from past seasons, playing alongside Vernon Hargreaves (whose form dipped from 2014 with Florida) and Alterraun Verner, who is yet to rediscover the production levels of his Titans days. If all three produce their best form, the Bucs could appear much higher on this list, but can all three rebound?

Shocked we aren't 32.

While I applaud the effort to shore up the rest of the team, this squad is held together with duct tape and spit. Time will tell how much this pass rush limits the exposure in the secondary.

PFF really does a terrible job at addressing scheme and fit. In their infancy, this was somewhat understandable. Now? Not so much. Carolina always has a "poor" group of CB's, because they limit investments in the position - preferring to spend high-end assets at DL and LB. As it happens, though, their pass D is usually among the best in the league.

I agree.

They don't ever talk about scheme. Or what a players responsibilities are. They just watch a game and see a player make a play.

Meh. It's up to the team to prove them right or wrong. I'm sure there will be plenty of teams licking their chops when they play us but hopefully, they'll be licking their wounds afterward.

Just because the front seven is good doesn't mean they have a good group of cornerbacks, though. This list isn't about "if the other parts on D do their job", it's based on the group.
