CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins
Preseason overall grade: 82.7

Fitzpatrick entered the fold with high expectations given the team’s first-round investment in the former Alabama standout. And so far, expectations have been met. Playing mostly slot cornerback, Fitzpatrick earned an 82.5 coverage grade across 42 coverage snaps, allowing just three receptions on seven targets for 14 yards in the process.

Raise your hand if you're surprised.

just 5 more days till we get something real to talk about. Regular season games!!

I still dont understand playing him mostly in the slot. If they do this regularly then all of our problems in the deep passing game and over the middle still exist in 2018.

this is what happens when you have no real idea what youre doing building a championship caliber organization. this is the same thing as having albert and drafting tunsil and moving him to guard. minkah should be at safety from day 1 just as tunsil should have been at tackle.

It literally makes no sense to me. Our boundary cb's werent that bad last year, we just gave a big contract to a slot cb, then you draft fitz and put him in the slot? To add onto all of this you just dont use a top 15 draft pick on a slot cb. Minkah could solve so many problems if you put him at fs and let him patrol the entire field...

File this under the "things that should be said AFTER a game or 2 has been played" category. Too many emotional posts stating things as though the results have already been shown and there's data to prove it.

"This is what happens"? Nothing has happened. The kid hasn't even played a real snap of football so not a single person has a clue where he'll actually play or what will actually happen. Can we at least attempt to operate objectively?

From NFL.com scouting analysis:

"Tankersley is a highway speed guy. If you draw up a corner, this is the guy. He can run fast. He's a press corner."

so we draft a guy seen as a press corner and put him in an off look....we draft a tackle and play him at guard. we draft a safety and play him in the slot and move our slot guy who got paid as a slot to the boundry. its a circus.

Dolphins gonna Dolphin.

Have they played "meaningful" games already?

What did I miss?
