PFT AFC EAST Preview

We have a very good division. Mia and Buf are just unlucky to be in a division right now w/ the Jets and Pats.

I can say almost say every division is pretty good except the NFC west which is on the rise of course..No excuses play like a champion...

Look at the Whole NFC..

Every team except maybe the Panthers and 49ers has a shot to surprise and make the playoffs..

Agreed. Phins are unlucky to be in a division with a team they're 3-1 against in the last couple seasons.

Phins take care of the rest of the schedule and the Jets are not a problem. The Pats are.

The funny thing is, besides maybe Fred Jackson, there is not one Bills starter I would take over a Dolphins starter. The Dolphins are just a much more talented team than the Bills.

IT's funny that you guys trash this sites for their predicitons and all you do is trash the Bills. If Fitz starts the opener, the Bills sweep the Fins. Kyle Williams and Dareus will improve the run defense tremedously and Merriman completely changes the defense if he can stay healthy.

I won't predict the Bills making the playoffs, but I think they will make noise. I do think the Bills are a better team than the Fins but I would not be shocked if the Bills, Jets, or Fins finish in 2nd. IMO, the Bills have the 2nd best qb in the division and that makes a ton of difference. If Henne or Sanchez steps up, then perhaps the Jets and Fins make the playoffs.

But stop acting like it's a shock that most people outside of Fin fans think the Bills are better than the Fins. Reggie Bush scares no one.

I dont agree with this..It took a few games for him to get going..Bills only scored 17 against us in the first game..Its not like Fitz trashed us..Carp missed 4 Fgs

Is Fitz better than Henne yea.. None of us can go back in time Mcfly.

More like, if our Pro Bowl kicker doesn't have a bad day and miss four field goals, the Dolphins sweep the Bills.

Wake up man, the Bills are not a good team. They won't be until Ralph Wilson is no longer in charge of the team. The Bills give the fans false hope every once in awhile(you seem to be falling for it right now) but they are still the same team that has 1 winning season in 11 years and haven't made the playoffs in 11 seasons. They won 4 games last year and were in the running for the first overall pick, and only made a few additions. They might be improved, but when you go from 4-12 to 5-11 is that much of an improvement?

The Dolphins have the pieces for a playoff run, the Bills don't.

Most people? Most people expect the Bills to be in the basement again. You need to look beyond the Buffalo message boards and the occasional "expert".

This maybe right.

Unlucky to be in the same division as the Jets? Why? That is 1-2 wins a year for the Dolphins.

Unfortunately you guys struggle to beat everyone else while we don't have that problem so you finish 2-4 games behind us. If only they awarded postseason berths based on jets-phins head to head you might have a shot.

I wish ALL journalist / opinionators picked Miami last. An underdog status is a great motivator!

You are right, the Dolphins do need to play better against the rest of the league, but you implied the Dolphins problem is being in the same division as the Jets. I love the Dolphins being in the same division because the Dolphins own the Jets as of late. The first step to making the playoffs is to take care of the teams in your division. The Dolphins typically win one or both of the Jets games as of late. Now if the Jets were sweeping the Dolphins every year than yeah it would be tough luck that we were in the same division.

Wow. Dareus as a rookie is not better than Langford or Stark. He may get there but not this year. Kyle Williams is marginal against the run. The Bills may have the worst LB core in football. Merriman? The only way he's got his skills back is if he's juiced. Their OL is worse than the Dolphins, and that's saying a lot. Fitzpatrick to Johnson is a nice combination but who else does Buffalo have that compares to the Dolphin's receiving corp. Fitzpatrick is only slightly better than Henne 2010 but who knows 2011. Jackson is a descent RB. Florence is not better than Sean Smith (not according to Profootball focus, anyway). The Dolphins will not lose two to Buffalo. Although Buffalo has improved in some areas, they're still not as talented as Miami. DolphinISS, you must be a closet Buffalo fan. Go ahead. It's OK. There is no stigma for coming out of the closet now-a-days.

It is a problem b/c the Jets are a better team than Miami, the AFC East has 2 of the top teams in the AFC in their division making it difficult for the bottom 2 to make a dent.

Look, I'm not going to get in a pissing match because obvious this is a Miami board. You guys have your opinions and Bills fans have theirs. All I know is that the Bills haven't had a leader at the QB position like Fitz in a long time. Henne isn't a guy I'd classify as a leader. Henne played behind a good oline with a great LT and struggled. He took one of the best receivers in the NFL (and a scum but a good player) and had him put up some of the worst #s of his career.

Fitz played behind a young and questionable line and got career seasons out of a 7th rounder draft pick (Johnson) and a career year from Parrish. He is in his 2nd year of a very friendly QB system. We got nothing from a top 10 draft pick at rb. If he contributes at all, it is a huge bonus.

I think the Fins have a really good defense. But that only gets you so far. I think the Bills will have the most improved defense in the NFL (not saying much because we were terrible). But if a team that gave up 170 yards rushing per game and lost 3 OT games to playoff team can improve that, why is it crazy to think they won't be much improved?

Look, no one knows anything at this point. We all have false hope because I tell you most outside fans think much of the Fins at this point either. However, as limited physically as he is, I love the Bills going into battle with Fitzpatrick. Can you say the same about Henne?
