PFT has found that the Fins did give permission to Daunte via a quote from Cam "He's welcome to talk to any team he is a player/agent"
 
They don't care that he can talk to other teams period. So I don't think it matters to them when he started.
 
he can talk to teams about a TRADE not about the possibility of him being released and then he'll later join that team.
 
miami should have gotten a brees instead all they ended up with is a cold-pecker

no they do care, because the teams are saying "get cut and well sign you" not "lets work a trade" if thats what they are saying then when he began talking to teams is called into question, if its before the dolphins officially gave him permission then this violates the NFL's tampering rules. since the trade market seemed to have disappeared on the dolphins they have reason to question when and what daunte has been discussing.

this is the flaw in the player-agent that daunte has assumed, as PFT points out, if he has an agent, his agent could be discussing a "get released and well sign you" agreement done through normal agent/fo interaction that can be disguised as regarding another player. since daunte is his own agent, they can trace his contact with other teams and if it is before the dolphins gave him permission then he and the teams are guilty of tampering.

i have a feeling this is what cam was alluding to when he vaguely refered to their side of the story
