Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Lions have decided that, barring a blockbuster offer, they will use the No. 2 overall pick in the draft -- and they will select receiver Calvin Johnson if, as expected, he is available.
Schefter says that offensive coordinator Mike Martz was one of the key cogs in the decision, based on his explanation to the the powers-that-be as to how he would use Johnson.
We'd previously heard that the Lions will draft Johnson and then maybe trade him. But maybe, just maybe, the Lions will use their fourth first-round pick in the past decade on a receiver, and keep him.

Will he be there. According to Mayock the Raiders snag Johnson. What I dont understand with so many teams wanting Johnson how do the Raiders not realize this kids talent. They could very well snag the best QB in the second round and draft Johnson. I bet you any QB you put with Johnson will have productive numbers.

Millen is an idiot. I hope they draft Johnson. The lions just re-signed a WR.

YOu are talking about a team that had Randy Moss and Joey POrter . . . and they had HORRIBLE seasons . . . u could have Randy Moss, Calvin JOhnson and T.O. and it doesn't matter unless you have a guy to get them the ball or a Line to protect.

MIami is in a situation where they have coaches that have proven track records of being able to get some late round talent and making a solid OLine. So we can focus on QB or WR . . . Oakland needs a young stud QB w/ a big arm in the offense they run . . . and Jamarucs or Quinn would be fantastic for them.
