I'm so lonesome I could cry (Mora rumored on PFT)

MORA OFFERED FINS' GIG?
An industry source has advised us that the Miami Dolphins offered on Monday its head-coaching job to former Falcons coach Jim Mora on Monday, during a second interview for the job.
Mora, per the source, didn't accept the job on the spot (he'd apparently only do that if the University of Washington came calling).
Actually, there's a chance that Mora would like to wait a day or two to see what happens with the other high-profile job in Seattle. There's a suspicion that Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren could call it quits if his decision to return in 2006 was a one-more-time shot at the Super Bowl win that the team didn't get in 2005.
Per the flightaware.com site, the plane that brought Mora to Miami from Atlanta was scheduled to depart at 2:45 p.m. EST on Monday, but didn't leave on time. Or, as of this posting, at all.
The Dolphins supposedly narrowed their list of candidates to five after an initial round of 12 interviews. The five finalists, per published reports, were Mora, Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey, Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin, and Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
We reported on Monday that Gailey and Schottenheimer were the frontrunners for the job.
There's also talk in South Florida that, despite Pete Carroll's recent explanation that the Miami job is attractive because it entails total control, the position likely will have less power than it had under the Nicktator.

I feel sick. Joe Rose ran the interview this morning on 790 that got Mora fired. How Mora has the gull to say that he was joking is as bad as you know who telling Mortensen he's all about honesty and integrity. If the PFT rumor turns out to be true, it's time to burn this entire franchise down starting with Wayne Huizenga. Grab your pitchforks boys, we're heading out to Davie.

I don't want that beedy eyed Charlie Brown look alike coaching our Fins!!! His teams quit on him.:fire:

mora would never not jump at another NFL job, he has no options at this point

After departing the Miami facility in the company of general manager Randy Mueller, Mora told associates close to him he had a decision to make about his future.
It is unclear what decision he was talking about, as he is not in negotiations with any other NFL team and had not received a contract offer from Miami as of Monday evening

It's pretty bad when even Jim Mora has to consider wether or not to take a job with our organization

That's a sound theory only if you factor out that Mora may be a universal idiot. Have any of you heard the interview that got him fired? I heard it for the first time this morning on the way home like if God was just setting me up for the PFT rumor I was about to encounter. The man is a jackass. If you haven't heard it please download it.

If there is any truth to this rumour then it is a sad day in Dolphins' history indeed. He should never have even been hired by the Falcons. If we hire Mora then you'll hear the following from most commentators every year when speaking about Miami's chances: Playoffs?!! Playoffs??????

I read this too. My first three sites in the morning are PFT, the Hearld, and here in that very order. I've got such a sick feeling in my gut. This isn't fair. I don't deserve this the way I love this team.:shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

Well I wouldn't worry about Mora leaving for a college job I am certain Wayne will put a buyout clause in his contract to cover that situation. I think he is the lesser of two evils here at least :(

The last thing I DONT want is a coach that has been offered this job has to THINK about it. BULLSH*T!!!!! I want a guy that REALLY WANTS to be here, and if offered the job would jump at it in a heartbeat. So its my opinion that Mora can go F*CK himself if he needs to think about it.:fire: :fire:

I appreciate the effort to make me feel better but I thought we were atleast giving up the search for a glamorous head coach in order to bring in someone who actually wants to be a part of this city and this organization. Someone who'd bleed aqua and orange for years like I bleed for 53 players I've never met Sunday after freagin Sunday. Mora's heart is in Washington. He saids it in the interview. He saids "I love Washington and can't wait to get back there."

It's true, they just reported it on 790! They offered him the job and he left without accepting it.

Ugh, not even Jim Mora wants to coach here :sidelol:

I would rather let Capers run the team and take my chances, next year there are a bunch of good coaches available (Cowher, parcells, Billy B)

I don't know how they came up with that 2:45 flight not leaving yet. That flight was scheduled to leave TODAY at 2:45. The flight yesterday left for DeKalb at 3:11 and made its return trip at 4:58. I don't believe that Mora is still in Miami like this article has you assume.
