PIOLI TELLS GIANTS "NO THANKS"

Patriots V.P. of player personnel Scott Pioli, considered by many league observers as regarding the Giants' G.M. position as his "dream job," has declined an opportunity to interview for the position vacated by Ernie Accorsi.

Wow.

Per Arthur Staple of Newsday, the Giants requested permission to speak with Pioli, the Patriots granted permission (despite rampant speculation that the Pats would try to block the move), and Pioli politely declined.

Wow.

Pioli previously turned down a lucrative offer from the Seahawks. He is widely regarded as having a short list of G.M. jobs in which he'd be interested, but it also widely was regarded that the Giants' job was at the top of the list.

So, to those of you in the "Let's hire Pioli" crowd: exactly what makes you think it's realistic to expect that we can hire him?

He won't come easy because he's Belicheck's biotch (or maybe it's visa versa)
Or maybe the rings and the constant winning is really hard to walk away from. hes got a good job, probalby has a wonderful life, and hes making more money then he needs. Why would anyone bother messing without that kind of daily routine?

The ultimate challenge and maybe to prove to himself (and others) that he was the reason for the Pat's success in building a strong team and no so much Belicheck... maybe? Just sayin...

He's not going to leave because the Krafts will give him whatever he wants to stay, he is running that franchise. They would let Bellichek go before they would Pioli.

There was already some talk of that possibly happening now that Bellicheks contract is up.

Go to the Pats board and read for yourself bro, Bellichek and Pioli haven't been getting along, Bellichek's contract is up and the Kraft's feel Bellichek is bad for thier image due in part to having relations with a married woman up there.

They all say if it comes down to it, Bellichek is gone and Pioli is staying.
