Obviously I don't agree with their ranking of 27th, but it was actually a decent write up and more thought out piece than the "Dolphins have no talent" garbage most of these writers spit out. It also didn't revert to the old liners about stadium attendance, celebrity owners, the orange carpet, or conspiracy theories that Ross wants different things than Ireland and Philbin.
I understand this team has holes, not going to deny that, but I just can't understand how people think they are going to be significantly worse than last year. Yes they have a new offensive system and switching to the 4-3, but this team didn't drastically become one of the worst(or as Marvez thinks the 2nd worst NFL team) in just one offseason. An offseason that saw the coaching staff get replaced(Sparano was one of the biggest complaints by media and some fans last season), the drafting of a potential franchise first round quarterback and some other nice free agent and draft pickups. I know Marshall is gone and no single one player is going to replace his production, but I don't think they have to. Marshall's absence will just give guys like Hartline and Bess more opportunities and if Chad Johnson can regain some of his former glory, we can have success passing the ball, especially since Garrard might be an upgrade at QB.
This team didn't fall way behind the likes of teams like the Bills, Redskins, Chiefs and Raiders. Teams that in some cases the Dolphins steamrolled over last season. Just look at this year's schedule, tell me you seriously can't see 8 wins, maybe 9. You are lying in my opinion if you can't. The team is not ready to make a real run yet, probably not until next year, but a successful season is possible.

You're right, we didn't just become one of the worst teams in the league overnight, we were already one of the worst teams in the league. We went 6-10 last year, remember? I don't care how these bozos finished after 0-7 when the games were completely meaningless, you act as if the first half of the year doesn't count. Plus, it's not like these guys are going to carry any of that 6-3 momentum into 2012, the team is COMPLETELY different in almost every way.
I don't think that we got A LOT worse in this off season, but unless an unknown commodity or two (like a rookie or a Nanee type guy) comes up huge for us this year, we certainly didn't get any better. Marshall was a big weapon for us, and he opened up a lot for the rest of our offense whether u want to admit it or not.
I am not ignoring the 0-7 start. Isn't that the reason Sparano lost his job?
But lately Miami has been ranked below the Bills, Chiefs, Redskins and Raiders. Four teams(five games) they beat by a combined score of 150-67. Yes, they lost to the Browns(by one point) after Nolan's defense collapsed. In three games against the Cowboys, Giants and Patriots they lost by a combined 7 points. The Dolphins did not have a good record, but it wasn't like they were being blown out every week or never in games they lost. There are more bad teams on the Dolphins schedule than there were last season, which is why I think along with the new changes they can win 8 games. Maybe even 9.
