Diehard Phinatic!
Longtime Indianapolis receiver Reggie Wayne is heading toward free agency having heard nothing from the Colts about whether they want him back, and so the conversations are starting about where Wayne’s landing place could be. Unsurprisingly, the Dolphins appear to be a strong candidate.
Wayne played for the Miami Hurricanes and spends his offseasons in Miami, and Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel reports that Wayne would be open to signing with the Dolphins.
That, of course, raises immediate questions about whether Wayne and Peyton Manning, who could go somewhere as a package deal, will find themselves as teammates in Miami, as they have been in Indianapolis since Wayne was drafted in 2001. On today’s Dan Patrick Show, Tony Dungy, who coached both men, said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Reggie ends up where ever Peyton ends up.”
