At quick glance and with all the doom and gloom i thought the Dolphins were interviewing Canseco

Sounds like he is going to get the job.

I really hope Ross turns the whole franchise over to him and he wants to go in a completely new direction.

Hell yea Florio's on it. I'm feeling good about Caserio. Hopefully we get it DONE.

A day ago, few knew Patriots V.P. of player personnel Nick Caserio was a candidate for the G.M. position in Miami.  A day from now, Caserio could be close to getting the job.Tom Curran of CSN New England reports that Caserio will have a second interview on Saturday, one day after Caserio had a first interview.Caserio has helped set the table for coach Bill Belichick since Scott Pioli left for Kansas City in 2009.  Despite consistently passing on other opportunities to leave, Caserio has decided to throw his three-cornered hat in the ring.Dolphins assistant G.M. Brian Gaine has received a second interview, and Titans director of player personnel Lake Dawson is expected to get a second interview, too.As we explained Friday, a source with knowledge of the Dolphins’ search told PFT that the Dolphins likely requested permission to interview Caserio from the outset of the search, and that Caserio politely declined. If Caserio had shown interest in leaving sooner, the Patriots could have re-hired Pioli.  But Pioli accepted a job two days ago as assistant G.M. with the Falcons.

I'm very glad he's getting a second interview. I hope he gets and accepts the job. Here is a guy who helped build the New England OL with Solder and Vollmer, and we need to do the same thing. Who knows, maybe we get him and he drafts Taylor Lewan, that would be a great start.

I just want to punch Ross in the face. Just hire this guy...or someone for the love of God.

Great news overall. I'd love to have Caserio be the GM... but what is this kind of ****, seriously? Not that you're the main offender, but why is kind of comment so widespread? It's nothing more or less than shameful, embarrassing misogyny.

Not that I expect anyone to stop. I'm sure a few people will flame me. But it's ****ing embarrassing.

Someone just had to post something to bring out Rachel Maddow.

This is great news! Glad to see this process is moving forward in a fairly functional manner!

Great news!

Hopefully he interviews 2nd tomorrow and Ross just offers him the job at the end of it.

Your right, just messing around since everyone seemed to think she would hinder bringing anyone of worth in.

Here is Nick Caserio's bio from the Patriot website. Interesting that he has a finance degree and an MBA, but he's not a lawyer. (Attorneys tend to like other attorneys - Stephen Ross and Dawn Aponte).

Nick Caserio was named director of player personnel on Feb. 21, 2008, after serving in a number of roles for the Patriots' personnel department and coaching staff. He enters his 13th season with the Patriots in 2013 and his 11th season in player personnel. In 2007, Caserio served as the Patriots' wide receivers coach following a three-year stint as the team's director of pro personnel (2004-06).

In Caserio's 12 seasons with the club, the Patriots have qualified for the Super Bowl five times with three wins, captured 10 AFC East crowns and qualified for the playoffs in every year except in 2002 and 2008. Caserio has been instrumental in drafting, signing and developing players who have become cornerstones of one of the most successful NFL franchises of all time. In addition to the player personnel department, Caserio returned to the field in 2007 to coach the wide receivers, a season that saw the Patriots amass an undefeated regular season record and an offense break many NFL records.

Caserio joined the Patriots in June of 2001 as a personnel assistant and celebrated the Patriots' first Super Bowl title that season. During that year, his role was expanded to include film breakdown and scouting report preparation for the offensive staff. He became an offensive coaching assistant on Bill Belichick's staff in February 2002, and returned to player personnel in 2003 as an area scout prior to becoming director of pro personnel in 2004. In addition to his duties in the personnel department, Caserio handled press box responsibilities for the coaching staff on game days from 2003-06.

Caserio entered the coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at Saginaw Valley State University in 1999 and spent two seasons with the program. Following a brief time with Central Michigan as a graduate assistant in the spring of 2001, he joined the Patriots scouting department. Caserio was a standout player at John Carroll University, starting at quarterback in each of his four seasons where the team compiled a 33-7-2 record. He was a two-time captain and three-time All-Conference performer. In 1997, he helped to lead the Blue Streaks to a 10-2 record and the school's second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, where it advanced to the national quarterfinals.

Caserio is a native of Lyndhurst, Ohio. He was a teammate of Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels at John Carroll. He earned his degree in finance from John Carroll and later earned his Master's of Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State. Caserio was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection at John Carroll. Nick and his wife, Kathleen, were married in June, 2009. Nick and his wife have two daughters, Whitley and Chatham.

In fairness to Lake Dawson - I looked up his bio as well. He's a good candidate as well..

Lake Dawson is in his eighth season with the Titans and third as VP of Player Personnel in 2014. He has 20 years of NFL experience as a player and executive.

Dawson works alongside general manager Ruston Webster by managing day-to-day football operations with a primary focus on player personnel. He is responsible for overseeing both the pro personnel and college scouting departments.

A highly-respected talent evaluator, Dawson assists head coach Mike Munchak and the general manager with the team’s daily roster moves and all transactions via free agency and the annual NFL Draft. He also scouts all levels of professional football, including the NFL, CFL and Arena Football League. In addition to his various football operations responsibilities, he assists with contract negotiations. This past May, he participated in the NFL’s Career Development Symposium at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia.

Dawson joined the Titans in 2007 as Director of Pro Personnel and was promoted in 2011 to VP of Football Operations. He came to the Titans’ organization with 12 years of NFL experience. While with the Seattle Seahawks, Dawson was an instrumental member of the personnel department, as the organization won the NFC West Divisional Championship in three consecutive seasons and earned a Super Bowl appearance in 2005. In Seattle, Dawson last held the title of Assistant Director of Pro Personnel and he originally joined the Seahawks as a Pro Personnel Assistant in 2001.

Dawson was an NFL wide receiver and a third-round selection by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1994. He also spent time on the Indianapolis Colts’ roster before retiring due to injuries and ending his six-year NFL career. He is a graduate from the University of Notre Dame, where he played football for four years. He is working towards a Master’s degree in business.

Dawson and his wife, Lori, have three children: Bella, Myles and Leila.

Lake Dawson's Background:
2012-14: Tennessee Titans – VP of Player Personnel
2011: Tennessee Titans – VP/Football Operations
2007-10: Tennessee Titans – Director of Pro Scouting
2005-06: Seattle Seahawks – Asst. Director of Pro Personnel
2001–04: Seattle Seahawks – Pro Personnel Assistant

I expect him to be named the GM on Saturday night.

Like I said, I didn't mean to single you out. I'm sorry about that.

I just wish people would stop saying things that make me feel bad for Dawn Aponte, because I don't think she's particularly good at her job and I don't think a capologist should have the kind of authority she apparently wields. But I also think that doesn't mean we have to stoop to sexism.

Here's an idea.....

Stop supporting the agenda that gives it to her.

Do you not realize its possible to be respectful towards women without being absurd at the same time.
