Probably a bit of sensationalism, but they say he's no longer week to week, but rather day to day.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the week-to-week scenario has now become day-to-day for Tannehill, who suffered 15 days ago a Grade II MCL sprain and a slight tear of his ACL on a low hit from Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell. With the cast, which was used to stabilize the knee so that the MCL could heal, now gone the question becomes whether the MCL has healed enough to let Tannehill play.

While I would love to see him line up in a playoff game, I think we have to be smart. His contemporary RG3 went off the rails after trying to play injured....it's nice to make the playoffs, but we have the next 5 years to consider, and without a reliable, capable QB, that could be in Jeopardy.

Probably no way he plays this week. If he hasn't been IR'd by now doubt they will. I look for him to "available" in 2 weeks.

Well there's 2 more full weeks til playoffs, so that's some good healing time, IF it's true and he's "day to day"

NE is off the table, but playoffs all the way if he's ready.

Yeah 2 weeks feels like a long time since he already has the cast off....seems feasible.

The good news is with Moore, we don't have to force him back too early to even have hope. It's easier to play this smart.

Having clinched just made decision time much easier... Now there's really no need to rush him back before the playoffs.

Is he practicing yet? Is that what day to day means? If he is practicing and has no pain/discomfort/hindered motions then I see no reason why he should not start.

You only play him if he is ready and there is no risk of further injury. If those two requirements are met......you play him. If not, go with Moore.

Tannehill gives us our best shot, but I would not risk the future if he isn't ready.

Tanne is my guy, but we need to be smart about this. Not only for his health, but for the momentum of the team. Maybe bring him in if Moore struggles. What I don't want to see is number 1, permanent and career effects of bringing him back too soon...and 2nd, bringing him back to start, we lose and the Tanne bashing club being their ignorant selves!

If Moore wins and plays well vs. New England, I would be pretty surprised if he didn't start the wildcard round.

I think the big change is, we may see Ryan Tannehill active for a playoff game, in a backup role, and maybe as a guy who can light a spark under the offense if Moore struggles early in a game or if Moore goes down.

There will not be hurt feelings either way . . . Moore and Tannehill are like brothers, and Gase is going to go with the guy that gives them the best chance to win without subjecting his franchise QB to unnecessary contact.

But this is fantastic news!! There is a great chance that Ryan will have a healthy offseason and gain more rapport with this group to come back better than ever in 2017.

Can't base that decision based on what some knuckle apes on a message board think

I doubt that would ever happen. If Ryan is good enough to be a backup then he should start. If he is ever backing up Moore, it is a demotion.

Gase clearly said when Tannehill would be ready, he was going to start... We'll see if he changes his stance on that...really doubt it...
