The nerver of this rumor site never ceases to amaze me.

Dear PFT...Did it actually occur to you that Bill Bellichek might just have learned to cheat all the time on his own.

I won't provide the link because they don't deserve it. But their Michael David Smith tries to extend sypgate II punishment to the Jets, Browns and Raiders because they have former Patriots coaches. Then Florio tries to tie in the Dolphins because Bellichek must have gotten it from Parcells.

Dear Florio, I guess then it extends all the way back to Shula, Noll and Lombardi too.

God, I hate PFT when they editorialize. I only go on for an occasional bit of actual news.

meh. maybe its true? who really knows. Not like it matters. Belichecks the only one whose gonna get the book thrown at him. This is the NFL, it only matters when you get caught.

Its important because the Patriots are the ones who have cheated ever since the tuck rule. They are the ones who should be punished. Starting with the removal of all their draft picks this year and next.

Not defending the Patriots but they didn't create that rule, it was there before that game ever took place, just nobody ever called it. Now what exactly motivated the refs to make such a call, that can be argued. But someone, at some point, felt that rule needed to be written, and it wasn't the patriots.

Don't worry, Belichecks gonna be grilled for spygate. His name, which is probably the most important thing in the world to him, is going to be dragged through the mud for an entire offseason. He'll probably face a suspension, although it won't be as long as most are hoping.

PFT is a drama site. They have sources and when they report "news" they usually get it right. However, when their stories are not fact based and more opinion, they love to go for the drama.

This whole spygate thing is pretty clear that it is just the Pats, but where is the league-wide drama in that? That is why they start stories like this.

Remember a few weeks ago when Ireland said something at the Senior Bowl that Parcells makes some decisions, PFT tried to create drama and say Jerry Jones may try to get compensation from the Dolphins, and always end the story with "Stay Tuned" phrase.

Also when it was pretty clear Sparano was going to get the job, they ran with that small blurb about Mike Tice's friends saying Mike was the guy. They even went as far as saying they were rooting for Tice to get the job? Why? Well, because Tice offers more drama they can write about then Sparano would.

I like PFT for their news stories, but their opinion pieces suck.

i would be surprised if parcells never 'cheated'

its all gamesmanship

what they fail to mention is that the rams spied on the pats also that week. but that doesn't get investigated...why not?

Cause they lost. It's not cheating if it doesn't work.

The guy who runs PFT was on Joe Rose's show this morning. Rose asked him about Spy Gate and BB. The guy said that Bill had to learn it somewhere and who knows maybe it was from Parcells. Rose responded, "Well that hitd home here in So Fla" and then changed the subject.

So I think that's where this "rumor" originated.

Lets stop for a second and say Parcells did use videotapping when he was head coach. Even if Belichick spilled his guts, what could the league really do? First off, this in no way affects the Dolphins. Can't penalize a team for something they never had anything to do with. This would be squarley on Parcells. Belichick's first offense was a hefty fine, but keep in mind they had evidence. Do you really think Parcells would be dumb enough to just let those tapes laying around for all these years? Nope! Even if Belichick tries to take Parcells down, there is likely no proof other then Belichick's word. Which as we all no is basicly zero.

The writer is probably a Patritots fan. They're all running around screaming that everybody does it, why is the NFL picking on them LOL. What a loser

I get the impression that Mike Florio is not much more than a superfan lawyer who, by floating unsubstantiated rumors while hiding behind the shield of the "press" is symbolically still trying to strike back at the Type-A personality big guys who no doubt tormented him through an awkward and unathletic childhood. :rickybrow: "Look at me, Look at Me"

Well, unlike a lot of you, I tend to agree with Florio when he throws out his opnion on things and, for that matter, have come to really enjoy reading PFT. Still, whith all of that being said, I don't see this whole Spygate thing impacting the Dolphins.

Lets presume that a couple of things are actually fact here. One being that Belichick did indeed cheat more than originally claimed and the proof is actually out there (Walsh, anyone??!!). Lets say for arguments sake that he does "topple the tree" of cheating by naming names of past and present offenders. The second presumption follows with Parcells being named as one of the cheaters and that proof still actually is floating around out there in the ether that could be used against him. All Goodell would be able to do is levy a fine against Parcells and perhaps the team(s) he was coaching at the time. There is no legal way that any of this could be tied to the Dolphins and current staff (i.e. hit us with any penalties) unless somehow they were caught doing something since the new regime was formed.

I seriously doubt that the NFL will see a buch of draft picks disappearing all of sudden because it is decided that a handful of teams are responsible for what there coaching staff did god-knows-many-years-ago with a different team in regards to cheating. BB is the only one who could get a serious whupping the second time around simply cause he had told Goodell that he wasn't responsible for anything else other than what he was caught doing already.

This is the same Florio who keeps a turd watch despite the fact that West Virginia his school has more arrests than all NFL teams combined.
