• Word from South Florida is that the Dolphins are satisfied, for the time being, with their current crop of nose tackles and will only look to add a player like veteran free agent Dan Wilkinson later in training camp if rookie Fred Evans, second-year player Manny Wright and aging veteran Keith Traylor aren't getting the job done.

W/ all the tackles we have: Traylor, Holliday, Wright, Evans, Fifita, Green, Wright...it appears they want to wait and see if any of them can't cut it before we sign Big daddy...

I think if Saban keeps getting on Manny's *** he will help us alot this year. At the end of last year we saw some good things out of Manny especially in the Buffalo game. The only real problem that i see is if Manny starts slacking off again it's going to set us back.

Yeah that was the feeling I was getting. At first it seemed hot and heavy with Dan Wilkinson, and coincidentally we were also getting the reports about Manny coming into camp overweight and needing all this extra attention etc. It seemed a natural conclusion that we wanted Dan around for multiple years in case when Traylor leaves, Wright is not really ready to take the diapers off yet.

Now it's been quiet on all fronts...which to me means Wright has stepped up a little and been rounding into some semblance of shape. Either that, or Fred Evans has looked better than expected.

Thats an enviable position to be in.Having your cake and eating it too.

It seems that Wilkinson is only considering retirement or playing for the Dolphins.

That will put added pressure on the DTs in camp.If any slip up there is always Wilkinso that can be talked out of retiring.

Win Win.:D

I have a feeling that Vickerson is going to be a surprise in camp. If remember correctly last year he was having a great training camp and there was alot of talk about him being a potential starter. If he could step his game up and be our starting DT this year it would make our team only that much better.

cant wait till rodrique wright gets to play.

It's going to be a while. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's going to be the surprise of next year's tranning camp. Even if he dosen't become a starter he's going to make for a great depth guy when he is healthy.

Nice Berryman avatar!

Love having the coices, not too worried about DT yet, expect Manny to step it up. You KNOW Saban is ALL OVER this kid.

Don't forget about Kevin Vickerson. All the D-lineman were raving about him before he tore his ACL! He was ahead of Manny on the depth chart before his injury. Now he is 11 months recovered.

Well, mainly just Kevin Carter. And, he was only raving about him inasmuch as he vehemently objected to Saban's lumping Vickerson and Wright into the same category.

I dunno, Vick was playing pretty well during pre-season. He was WAY ahead of Manny.
