PFW article on Chambers
A late-season explosion helped send Chris Chambers to his first Pro Bowl in 2005 and vaulted him to the long-awaited status as one of the NFL’s top wideouts.
Chambers, who turns 28 in August, came into the league as a second-round pick of Miami in 2001. He immediately impressed with his great athletic ability, his speed, and how he plays bigger than his 5-11, 210-pound frame.
His numbers during his first four seasons were good but not great due to a revolving door at quarterback and the signalcallers’ inability to throw the deep ball and take advantage of Chambers’ great speed and his ability to adjust to the ball in the air and make plays.
Now, with three-time Pro Bowler Daunte Culpepper in South Florida, Chambers is poised to take another step up in class amongst NFL wide receivers. Though still rehabbing after a serious knee injury last October, Culpepper has already shown he has the arm strength to properly utilize Chambers.
And that fact has made Chambers and the coaching staff, particularly new offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, very happy.
