Junior Seau is the first one to admit that he remains a work in progress in the Dolphins’ defense. The future Hall of Famer told our sources that he felt as though he understood “about 85 percent†of the system after looking a lot sharper in Miami’s preseason game vs. Jacksonville than he did in his rather shaky debut in a Dolphins uniform the previous week against Tampa Bay, when ESPN’s Ron Jaworski commented that he didn’t believe Seau had “anything left in the tank.†Against the Jaguars, Seau was involved in one very effective wrinkle, when he lined up over right tackle with DE Jason Taylor in space  a tactic that confused the Jags. Seau says his transition from being the central figure in the Chargers’ defense for over a decade to a mere role player with Miami has been a real challenge, but true to form, we hear he has been one of the most diligent workers in camp in an effort to get his new role down pat.
