Phil Jackson agrees to extension

The Lakers haven't announced it yet, but the word is Phil Jackson has agreed to a five-year contract extension that includes a provision for moving into the front office at the appropriate time.

Owner Jerry Buss is hopeful the Zen Master will be able to attract marquee players in his new role once he leaves the bench. That also sounds like a reduced role for Mitch Kupchak.

Good news for Laker fans. :) Plus, he will move into the front office when he is done coaching. Sounds like he will hand pick the next coach when need be. Good deal.

As long as Kobe is gonna be around why not. Even in the West if he is healthy they are a playoff team at worst with the young guys they have now. I hope they trade for Kidd, I would like to see what he could do in the triangle with Kobe.
