Strengths:
Massive with a huge frame...Long arms...Very strong and powerful...Is tough and physical...Good athleticism and quickness...Is stout at the point of attack...Gets a great push in the run game...Plays with a wide base...Has strong hands...Decent range and mobility...Finisher who plays with a nasty disposition...Solid work ethic...Has a ton of upside.

Weaknesses:
Struggles with speed off the edge...Has heavy feet...Has some trouble with false start penalties...Average awareness...Doesn't always play with proper leverage...Gets caught off balance at times...Gets caught reaching...Only two years of Division I experience...Intelligence may be an issue ... Ran into trouble off the field and character is a concern.

Notes:
JUCO transfer from Garden City (Kan.) Community College where he was a two-time All-American...A two-year starter at left tackle for the Sooners...Averaged 17 points with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks as a basketball player in high school...Arrested on allegations of disorderly conduct in 2006...Was arrested again in June of 2008 on suspicion of driving under the influence and transporting an open container of beer...Could play left tackle at the next level but his best fit will probably be on the right side...The vast majority of his flaws can be corrected with good coaching but you sure can't teach that size...Rare physical specimen but needs to work on the mental side of the game.

Phil is someone i watched carefully in the national championship game. He seemed pretty good but i highlighted some things that concern me. I also highlighted things that i like.

The false start penalties frustrate the hell out of me with Olineman. He would be a interesting prospect if VC doesn't re-sign in the 2nd round.

I saw Loadholt play high school football for Fountain-Ft. Carson high school which is located on the south side of Colorado Springs. He was much larger than any other high school player around here. I think he some things he needs to work on, but he seems to have good feet and blocks well.....I love his size....I think he would be good at right tackle, or maybe at left guard next to Jake Long.

besides the obvious strong points of his game and his size, his
demeanor is the key!!

when you watch him out ther at the senior bowl practices, he is
smiling and ENJOYING himself! he seems to love the contact and
THAT is the telling thing in an o-lineman.

he has that nate newton smile and the brute strength behind it.

i am real sold on him as a rt and now hope we get into a position
to draft him. he is literaly a WALL!!

he has impressed me big time so far at the s/b.

He looked overmatched against Florida's speed rushers in the title game. I know that he'll more than likely get switched to RT in the pros, but it still has to be a concern. He also had at least two false starts in that game I'm pretty sure, so I'd be leery taking him in the second.
