This thread is hilarious. The Chargers will not trade Philip Rivers. They franchised Brees, so that they can hopefully get another year out of him like last year. Next year, Brees will not a Charger, and it will be Rivers' show to run. They don't pay a guy all that money so that they trade him. He's the QB of their future, he's definitely not coming here.

Well it's pretty obvious he's going to be the odd man out past this season in San Diego. He is a franchise QB. The Phins should really try to make a move at him this year before San Diego starts taking other offers with him.

He could make us an actual contender with just his addition.

He is? More than a #1 next years draft AND MORE? We do need help in other positions. You do realize that don't you? Let's give up all of next years draft for him. Why not?.... RIDICULOUS

You guys act like we already know Rivers will step in and be a probowl player. He may have bust written all over him.

Who knows who will be available next year? FA or otherwise. Let's just wait and see after the season before your ready to trade all our future picks for a kid that has yet to start a down. Stop the madness.



:yell: No it's not madness to trade a #1 away for a QB of Rivers' caliber if a high QB draft pick is not available. It is madness if you do not do a little research and find out after Leinhart the rookie QB market drops off..bigtime!
No one is saying to give up an entire draft for Rivers...don't overexaggerate, please! At the same time... the BIGGEST GLARING WEAKNESS of these Dolphins is a QB that defenses FEAR! Fiedler, Feeley, Ferrotte????...my point exactly!

I hope if we are as high in the draft as we are this year we trade down.... i dont want to spend all this $$$ on a top 5 player.. when we could share the wealth and address so many other needs... I cant see Saban doing that twice in a year.

the absolute most needed player on this team is a quarterback.

argue it all you want to, when we aren't in the playoffs this season, it won't be because of the oline, it won't be because of the backs, it won't be because of the defense and it definately won't be because of the wideouts, it will be because of the QB. Whichever one is in there, they aren't going to make a difference.

So why not try to speculate on one we could possibly get. And I do believe that from reading everything that's been said about this kid, Rivers is a franchise QB.

Management should look into it...
